Acts 27:38
ਅਸੀਂ ਭਰ ਪੇਟ ਖਾਧਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਬਾਕੀ ਕਣਕ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਟਕੇ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਹਲਕਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਜਹਾਜ਼ਰਾਨ ਬੇੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਡੁੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਖਾਤਰ, ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਭਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਲਕਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚਲਾ ਲਦਿਆ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਇੰਨੇ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਜਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਹਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਚੀਕਿਆ। ਪਰ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਬੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰਲੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੌਂ ਗਿਆ।

Matthew 16:26
ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਲਾਭ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਵੇ, ਪਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਗੁਆ ਲਵੇ? ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਵਾਪਸ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਸੱਕਦਾ।

ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਤੂਫ਼ਾਨ ਇੰਨਾ ਤੇਜ਼ ਵਗ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਈ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।
Hebrews 12:1
ਸਾਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੀ ਮਿਸਾਲ ਤੇ ਚੱਲਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਲੋਕ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀਆਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦਸੱਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਦੌੜ ਲਾਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਨੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਹ ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਦੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦੇਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਪਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦੂਰ ਸੁੱਟ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਸਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਫ਼ੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
