Jonah 1:5
ਜਹਾਜ਼ਰਾਨ ਬੇੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਡੁੱਬਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਖਾਤਰ, ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਭਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਲਕਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚਲਾ ਲਦਿਆ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਇੰਨੇ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਜਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਹਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਚੀਕਿਆ। ਪਰ ਯੂਨਾਹ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਬੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰਲੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੌਂ ਗਿਆ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਟ ਮਾਸ ਖਾਣ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ: ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਅਸੀਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇੱਥੇ ਇੱਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਹੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ।
