Genesis 17:14
ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ, ਤੇਰੇ ਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਰਮਿਆਨ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਇਹ ਹੈ: ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਜਿਸਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਨਾ ਹੋਈ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਛੇਕ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਤੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ।”

| circumcised, | עָרְלָת֔וֹ | ʿorlātô | ore-la-TOH |
| that | וְנִכְרְתָ֛ה | wĕnikrĕtâ | veh-neek-reh-TA |
| soul | הַנֶּ֥פֶשׁ | hannepeš | ha-NEH-fesh |
| shall be cut off | הַהִ֖וא | hahiw | ha-HEEV |
| people; his from | מֵֽעַמֶּ֑יהָ | mēʿammêhā | may-ah-MAY-ha |
| he hath broken | אֶת | ʾet | et |
| בְּרִיתִ֖י | bĕrîtî | beh-ree-TEE | |
