Genesis 16:4
ਹਾਜਰਾ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਹਾਜਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਮਾਲਕਣ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਜਰਾ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੰਨੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੀ।

ਸਾਰਈ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬੱਚੇ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਹਾਜਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਭੋਗ ਕਰ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰਾਂਗੀ।” ਅਬਰਾਮ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਹਿਮਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।

ਤਾਮਾਰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕੱਪੜੇ ਪਾਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਤੋਂ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਵਖਰੇ ਵਸਤਰ ਪਹਿਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਘੁੰਡ ਨਾਲ ਢੱਕ ਲਿਆ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਏਨਿਯਮ ਫ਼ਾਟਕ ਕੋਲ ਬੈਠ ਗਈ ਜੋ ਤਿਮਨਾਥ ਦੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ। ਤਾਮਾਰ ਜਾਣਦੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸ਼ੇਲਾਹ ਹੁਣ ਜਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹੁਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਉਂਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਵੇਗਾ।

ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨੇ ਓਨਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਆਪਣੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਭਰਾ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਪੰਗਤ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ, ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣਾ ਫ਼ਰਜ਼ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ।”
Genesis 19:28
ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਸਦੂਮ ਅਤੇ ਅਮੂਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਦੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖਿਆ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਧੂਆਂ ਨਿਕਲਦਾ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਇਆ। ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਭਠੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਦੇ ਧੂੰਏਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
Genesis 4:1
ਪਹਿਲਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਆਦਮ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੱਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਬਣਾਏ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਸ ਬੱਚੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਇਨ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਹੱਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ, ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।”
