Genesis 22:3

ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੀ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਨੂੰ ਪਰੱਖਿਆ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਦੀ ਬਲੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਸੀ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਕੋਲ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਇਦੇ ਸਨ। ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, “ਇਹ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਔਲਾਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।” ਪਰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਇੱਕਲੌਤੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਦੀ ਬਲੀ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਸੀ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਿਹਚਾਵਾਨ ਸੀ।
Hebrews 11:8
ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਵਾਇਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਪਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਥਾਨ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਸੀ।
Galatians 1:16

Genesis 17:23
ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੰਡਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਇਸਮਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਨਮੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੈਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਖਰੀਦਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ।
