Genesis 40
1 ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੋ ਸੁਪਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਬਾਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨਾਲ ਕੁਝ ਮੰਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਹ ਦੋ ਨੌਕਰ ਸਨ ਨਾਨਬਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਅ ਵਰਤਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
2 ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਨਬਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਨਾਰਾਜ਼ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
3 ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਕੈਦਖਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦਾ ਗਾਰਦ ਵੀ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਪੋਟੀਫ਼ਰ, ਇਸ ਕੈਦਖਾਨੇ ਦਾ ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਸੀ।
4 ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਨੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਦੋਵੇਂ ਕੈਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਕੈਦਖਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਰਹੇ।
5 ਇੱਕ ਰਾਤ, ਦੋਹਾਂ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਆਇਆ। ਇਹ ਦੋ ਕੈਦੀ ਨਾਨਬਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਕੀ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਸਨ। ਹਰ ਕੈਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਪਣਾ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਦਾ ਆਪੋ-ਆਪਣਾ ਅਰਥ ਸੀ।
6 ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਅਗਲੀ ਸਵੇਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਗਿਆ। ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਆਦਮੀ ਫ਼ਿਕਰਮੰਦ ਸਨ।
7 ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਅੱਜ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੰਨੇ ਫ਼ਿਕਰਮੰਦ ਕਿਉਂ ਲੱਗ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਂ?”
8 ਦੋਹਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਰਾਤੀ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਇਸਦਾ ਕੀ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ। ਇੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਨਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸਮਝਾਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਿਆਖਿਆ ਕਰੇ।” ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੁਪਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਦੱਸੋ।”
9 ਸਾਕੀ ਦਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਾਕੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ। ਸਾਕੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਆਇਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇੱਕ ਵੇਲ ਦੇਖੀ ਹੈ।
10 ਵੇਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਟਹਿਣੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਟਹਿਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੁੱਲ ਉੱਗਦਿਆਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਬਣਦਿਆਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ।
11 ਮੈਂ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਫ਼ੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਤੋਂੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਸ ਨਿਚੋੜਕੇ ਪਿਆਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੈਂ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।”
12 ਤਾਂ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਆਖ਼ਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸਮਝਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਤਿੰਨ ਟਹਿਣੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ।
13 ਤਿੰਨਾ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੰਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਬੁਲਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ। ਤੂੰ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਲਈ ਉਹੀ ਕੰਮ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
14 ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋਵੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖੀਂ। ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਗਾ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕਰੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੀਂ। ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਕੈਦਖਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲ ਸੱਕਾਂ।
15 ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ, ਇਬਰਾਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਗਲਤ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕੈਦਖਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ।”
16 ਨਾਨਬਾਈ ਦਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਨਾਨਬਾਈ ਨੇ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨਾਨਬਾਈ ਨੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਪਨਾ ਆਇਆ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੋਟੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਟੋਕਰੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
17 ਉੱਪਰਲੀ ਟੋਕਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਕਾਇਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਭੋਜਨ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਭੋਜਨ ਰਾਜੇ ਲਈ ਚੰਗਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਇਸ ਭੋਜਨ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਛੀ ਖਾ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।”
18 ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸੁਪਨੇ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ। ਤਿੰਨ ਟੋਕਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹੈ ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ।
19 ਤਿੰਨ ਦਿਨ ਖਤਮ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਰਾਜਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੈਦਖਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਰਾਜਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਿਰ ਕਲਮ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ! ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਰੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਟੰਗ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਪੰਛੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮਾਸ ਖਾਣਗੇ।”
20 ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਤਿੰਨਾ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ, ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦਾ ਜਨਮਦਿਨ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਵਤ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਦਾਵਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੇ ਸਾਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਨਬਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਕੈਦਖਾਨੇ ਤੋਂ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
21 ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੇ ਸਾਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਵਾਪਸ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਸਾਕੀ ਨੇ ਮੈਅ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਲਾ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਫ਼ੜਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
22 ਪਰ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੇ ਨਾਨਬਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਾਂਸੀ ਲਟਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਗੱਲ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਾਪਰੀ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ।
23 ਪਰ ਸਾਕੀ ਨੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੂੰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਸਾਕੀ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਭੁੱਲ ਗਿਆ।
1 And it came to pass after these things, that the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker had offended their lord the king of Egypt.
2 And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.
3 And he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.
4 And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them: and they continued a season in ward.
5 And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound in the prison.
6 And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad.
7 And he asked Pharaoh’s officers that were with him in the ward of his lord’s house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly to day?
8 And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.
9 And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;
10 And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:
11 And Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand.
12 And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:
13 Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.
14 But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:
15 For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.
16 When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:
17 And in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of bakemeats for Pharaoh; and the birds did eat them out of the basket upon my head.
18 And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation thereof: The three baskets are three days:
19 Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee.
20 And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.
21 And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh’s hand:
22 But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them.
23 Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.
Genesis 36 in Tamil and English
1 ਏਸਾਓ ਦਾ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਏਸਾਓ (ਅਦੋਮ) ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ।
Now these are the generations of Esau, who is Edom.
2 ਏਸਾਓ ਨੇ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ। ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਸਨ: ਆਦਾਹ, ਜੋ ਹਿੱਤੀ ਏਲੋਨ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਆਹਾਲੀਬਾਮਾਹ, ਜੋ ਹਿੱਤੀ ਸਿਬਓਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਨਾਹ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ।
Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite;
3 ਬਾਸਮਾਥ, ਨਬਾਯੋਥ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ, ਇਸਮਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ।
And Bashemath Ishmael’s daughter, sister of Nebajoth.
4 ਏਸਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਆਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਅਲੀਫ਼ਾਜ਼। ਬਾਸਮਥ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਰਊਏਲ।
And Adah bare to Esau Eliphaz; and Bashemath bare Reuel;
5 ਅਤੇ ਆਹਾਲੀਬਮਾਹ ਦੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ: ਯਊਸ਼, ਯਾਲਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਰਹ। ਇਹ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
And Aholibamah bare Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah: these are the sons of Esau, which were born unto him in the land of Canaan.
6 ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਇੰਨੇ ਵੱਧ ਗਏ ਕਿ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਏਸਾਓ ਨੇ ਕਨਾਨ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। ਏਸਾਓ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਪਤਨੀਆਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ-ਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੁਲਾਮਾਂ, ਗਊਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਨਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਨਾਲ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਸੇਈਰ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਚੱਲਾ ਗਿਆ। (ਏਸਾਓ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਦੋਮ ਵੀ ਹੈ-ਅਤੇ ਇਹੀ ਸੇਈਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦਾ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੀ ਹੈ।)
And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.

For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle.
8
Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.
9 ਏਸਾਓ, ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾਮਾ ਹੈ। ਸੇਈਰ (ਅਦੋਮ) ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਇਹ ਹਨ:
And these are the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in mount Seir:
10 ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਨ: ਏਸਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਆਦਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਅਲੀਫ਼ਾਜ਼। ਏਸਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਸਮਥ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਰਊਏਲ।
These are the names of Esau’s sons; Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Bashemath the wife of Esau.
11 ਅਲੀਫ਼ਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ: ਤੇਮਾਨ, ਓਮਾਰ, ਸਫ਼ੋ, ਗਾਤਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਕਨਜ਼।
And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲੀਫ਼ਾਜ਼ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਤਿਮਨਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਸੀ। ਤਿਮਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਲੀਫ਼ਾਜ਼ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਮਾਲੇਕ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਆਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਸਨ।
And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau’s son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah Esau’s wife.
13 ਰਊਏਲ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ: ਨਹਥ, ਜ਼ਰਹ, ਸ਼ੰਮਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਜ਼ਾਹ੍ਹ। ਇਹ ਏਸਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਾਸਮਥ ਦੇ ਪੋਤੇ ਸਨ।
And these are the sons of Reuel; Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: these were the sons of Bashemath Esau’s wife.
14 ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਹੋਰ ਪਤਨੀ ਅਨਾਹ ਦੀ ਧੀ, ਆਹਾਲੀਬਾਮਾਹ ਸੀ। ਅਨਾਹ ਸਿਬਾਓਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਏਸਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਆਹਾਲੀਬਾਮਾਹ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਸਨ: ਯਊਸ, ਯਾਲਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਰਹ।
And these were the sons of Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon, Esau’s wife: and she bare to Esau Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.
15 ਇਹ ਉਹ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਏਸਾਓ (ਅਦੋਮ) ਤੋਂ ਜਨਮੇ ਸਨ: ਏਸਾਓ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲੋਠਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ ਅਲੀਫ਼ਾਜ਼। ਅਲੀਫ਼ਾਜ਼ ਤੋਂ ਜਨਮੇ ਸਨ: ਤੇਮਾਨ, ਓਮਾਰ, ਸਫ਼ੋ ਕਨਜ਼,
These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn son of Esau; duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz,
16 ਕੋਰਹ, ਗਾਤਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਾਲੇਕ। ਅਦੋਮ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਅਲੀਫ਼ਾਜ਼ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਸਨ। ਅਦੋਮ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਆਦਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਏ।
Duke Korah, duke Gatam, and duke Amalek: these are the dukes that came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these were the sons of Adah.
17 ਏਸਾਓ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਊਏਲ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਪੁਰੱਖਾ ਸੀ: ਨਹਥ, ਜ਼ਰਹ, ਸ਼ੰਮਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਜ਼ਾਹ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਾਸਮਥ ਤੋਂ ਜਨਮੇ ਸਨ।
And these are the sons of Reuel Esau’s son; duke Nahath, duke Zerah, duke Shammah, duke Mizzah: these are the dukes that came of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Bashemath Esau’s wife.
18 ਏਸਾਓ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਆਹਾਲੀਬਾਮਾਹ, ਅਨਾਹ ਦੀ ਧੀ, ਨੇ ਯਊਸ, ਯਲਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਕੋਰਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਤਿੰਨੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾਮਾ ਸਨ।
And these are the sons of Aholibamah Esau’s wife; duke Jeush, duke Jaalam, duke Korah: these were the dukes that came of Aholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau’s wife.
19 ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਏਸਾਓ (ਅਦੋਮ) ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਆਗੂ ਸਨ।
These are the sons of Esau, who is Edom, and these are their dukes.
20 ਏਸਾਓ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਦੋਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਹੋਰੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੇਈਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਸੇਈਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਹ ਸਨ: ਲੋਟਾਨ, ਸ਼ੋਬਾਲ, ਸਿਬਉਨ, ਅਨਾਹ,
These are the sons of Seir the Horite, who inhabited the land; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah,
21 ਦਿਸ਼ੋਨ, ਏਸਰ, ਦੀਸ਼ਾਨ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਦੋਮ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੇਈਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੋਰੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂ ਸਨ।
And Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan: these are the dukes of the Horites, the children of Seir in the land of Edom.
22 ਲੋਟਾਨ ਹੋਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੇਮਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। (ਤਿਮਨਾ ਲੋਟਾਨ ਦੀ ਭੈਣ ਸੀ।)
And the children of Lotan were Hori and Hemam; and Lotan’s sister was Timna.
23 ਸੋਬਾਨ ਅਲਵਾਨ, ਮਾਨਹਥ, ਏਬਾਲ ਸ਼ਫ਼ੋ ਅਤੇ ਓਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ।
And the children of Shobal were these; Alvan, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24 ਸਿਬਓਨ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ ਅੱਯਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਨਾਹ। (ਅਨਾਹ ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਰਮ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਚਸ਼ਮਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ, ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਗਧਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਦੇਖ-ਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਰਾ ਸੀ।)
And these are the children of Zibeon; both Ajah, and Anah: this was that Anah that found the mules in the wilderness, as he fed the asses of Zibeon his father.
25 ਦਿਸ਼ੋਨ ਅਨਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਆਹਾਲੀਬਾਮਾਹ ਅਨਾਹ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ।
And the children of Anah were these; Dishon, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah.
26 ਦੀਸ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ: ਹਮਦਾਨ, ਅਸੁਬਾਨ, ਯਿਤਰਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਾਨ।
And these are the children of Dishon; Hemdan, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
27 ਏਸਰੇ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ: ਬਿਲਹਾਨ, ਜ਼ਾਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਨ।
The children of Ezer are these; Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Akan.
28 ਦੀਸ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸਨ: ਊਸ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਾਨ।
The children of Dishan are these; Uz, and Aran.
29 ਹੋਰੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਇਹ ਹਨ: ਲੋਟਾਨ, ਸੋਬਾਲ, ਸਿਬਓਨ, ਅਨਾਹ,
These are the dukes that came of the Horites; duke Lotan, duke Shobal, duke Zibeon, duke Anah,
30 ਦਿਸ਼ੋਨ, ਏਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੀਸ਼ਾਨ। ਇਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੋਰੀ ਆਗੂ ਸਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੇਈਰ (ਅਦੋਮ) ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
Duke Dishon, duke Ezer, duke Dishan: these are the dukes that came of Hori, among their dukes in the land of Seir.
31 ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ, ਅਦੋਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਈ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਨ। ਅਦੋਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਸਨ।
And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel.
32 ਬਓਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਲਾ ਉਹ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅਦੋਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਦਿਨਹਾਬਾਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
33 ਜਦੋਂ ਬਲਾ ਮਰਿਆ, ਯੋਬਾਬ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਯੋਬਾਬ ਜ਼ਰਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਸਰੇ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਕੀਤਾ।
And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.
34 ਜਦੋਂ ਯੋਬਾਬ ਮਰਿਆ, ਹੁਸਾਮ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਹੁਸਾਮ ਤੇਮਾਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀ।
And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of Temani reigned in his stead.
35 ਹੁਸਾਮ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ, ਹਦਦ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਹਦਦ ਬਦਦ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। (ਹਦਦ ਉਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਮਿਦਯਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਇਆ ਸੀ।) ਹਦਦ ਅਵੀਤ ਨਗਰ ਤੋਂ ਸੀ।
And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.
36 ਜਦੋਂ ਹਦਦ ਮਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਸਮਲਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਮਲਾਹ ਮਸਰੇਕਾਹ ਦਾ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ।
And Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.
37 ਜਦੋਂ ਸਮਲਾਹ ਮਰਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਊਲ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਾਊਲ ਫ਼ਰਾਤ ਨਦੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਸੇ ਰਹੋਬੋਥ ਦਾ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ।
And Samlah died, and Saul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.
38 ਜਦੋਂ ਸਾਊਲ ਮਰਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਆਲ ਹਾਨਾਨ ਨੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ। ਬਆਲ ਹਾਨਾਨ ਅਕਬੋਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ।
And Saul died, and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.
39 ਜਦੋਂ ਬਆਲ ਹਨਾਨ, ਅਕਬੋਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮਰਿਆ, ਹਦਰ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਹਦਦ ਪਾਊ ਨਗਰ ਤੋਂ ਸੀ। ਹਦਦ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮਹੇਟਬਏਲ ਸੀ ਜੋ ਮਟਰੇਦ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ। (ਮੇਜ਼ਾਹਾਬ ਮਟਰੇਦ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ।)
And Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
40 ਏਸਾਓ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਦੋਮੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾਮਾ ਸੀ: ਤਿਮਨਾ, ਅਲਵਾਹ, ਯਥੇਥ, ਆਹਾਲੀਬਾਮਾਹ, ਏਲਾਹ, ਫ਼ੀਨੋਨ, ਕਨਜ਼, ਤੇਮਾਨ, ਮਿਬਸਾਰ, ਮਗਦੀਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਈਰਾਮ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਜਿਸ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਹੋ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੀ।
And these are the names of the dukes that came of Esau, according to their families, after their places, by their names; duke Timnah, duke Alvah, duke Jetheth,

Duke Magdiel, duke Iram: these be the dukes of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession: he is Esau the father of the Edomites.
