ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਕਿਉਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ? ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਭੇਡੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੋਟੇ-ਤਾਜ਼ੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਾਫੀ ਬਲੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹ੍ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਬੱਕਰੀਆਂ, ਬਲਦਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੂਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦੀ।

of your sacrifices זִבְחֵיכֶם֙ zebaḥ zeh-VAHK
unto me? saith יֹאמַ֣ר ʾāmar ah-MAHR
the Lord: יְהוָ֔ה yĕhōwâ yeh-hoh-VA
I am full שָׂבַ֛עְתִּי śābaʿ sa-VA
of the burnt offerings עֹל֥וֹת ʿōlâ oh-LA
of rams, אֵילִ֖ים ʾayil ah-YEEL
and the fat וְחֵ֣לֶב ḥeleb heh-LEV
of fed beasts; מְרִיאִ֑ים mĕrîʾ meh-REE
in the blood וְדַ֨ם dām dahm
of bullocks, פָּרִ֧ים par pahr
or of lambs, וּכְבָשִׂ֛ים kebeś keh-VES
or of he goats. וְעַתּוּדִ֖ים ʿattûd ah-TOOD
not לֹ֥א lōʾ loh
and I delight חָפָֽצְתִּי׃ ḥāpēṣ ha-FAYTS
