Jeremiah 25:27
“ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ, ਇਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਮੇਰੇ ਕਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਪਿਆਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਵੋ। ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਕੇ ਬਦਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਲਟੀਆਂ ਕਰੋ! ਢਹਿ ਪਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉੱਠੋ ਨਾ। ਉੱਠੋ ਨਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਭੇਜ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।’

| of hosts, | צְבָא֜וֹת | ṣĕbāʾôt | tseh-va-OTE |
| the God | אֱלֹהֵ֣י | ʾĕlōhê | ay-loh-HAY |
| Israel; of | יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל | yiśrāʾēl | yees-ra-ALE |
| Drink | שְׁת֤וּ | šĕtû | sheh-TOO |
| drunken, be and ye, | וְשִׁכְרוּ֙ | wĕšikrû | veh-sheek-ROO |
| and spue, | וּקְי֔וּ | ûqĕyû | oo-keh-YOO |
| fall, and | וְנִפְל֖וּ | wĕniplû | veh-neef-LOO |
| and rise | וְלֹ֣א | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| no | תָק֑וּמוּ | tāqûmû | ta-KOO-moo |
| because more, | מִפְּנֵ֣י | mippĕnê | mee-peh-NAY |
| of the sword | הַחֶ֔רֶב | haḥereb | ha-HEH-rev |
| which | אֲשֶׁ֛ר | ʾăšer | uh-SHER |
| I | אָנֹכִ֥י | ʾānōkî | ah-noh-HEE |
| will send | שֹׁלֵ֖חַ | šōlēaḥ | shoh-LAY-ak |
| among | בֵּינֵיכֶֽם׃ | bênêkem | bay-nay-HEM |
