Jeremiah 7:24
“ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਜ਼ਿੱਦੀ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਨ ਆਈਆਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹ ਨੇਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣੇ। ਉਹ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਮੰਦੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ-ਉਹ ਪਿੱਛਾਂਹ ਮੁੜ ਗਏ, ਅਗਾਂਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਧੇ।

| but walked | וַיֵּֽלְכוּ֙ | wayyēlĕkû | va-yay-leh-HOO |
| in the counsels | בְּמֹ֣עֵצ֔וֹת | bĕmōʿēṣôt | beh-MOH-ay-TSOTE |
| imagination the in and | בִּשְׁרִר֖וּת | bišrirût | beesh-ree-ROOT |
| of their evil | לִבָּ֣ם | libbām | lee-BAHM |
| heart, | הָרָ֑ע | hārāʿ | ha-RA |
| went and | וַיִּהְי֥וּ | wayyihyû | va-yee-YOO |
| backward, | לְאָח֖וֹר | lĕʾāḥôr | leh-ah-HORE |
| and not | וְלֹ֥א | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| forward. | לְפָנִֽים׃ | lĕpānîm | leh-fa-NEEM |
