ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਆਖਿਆ, ਫ਼ੇਰ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉੱਥੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਬੜੀ ਆਸਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ।”

ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਮਿਲੀ ਇੱਕ ਦਿਨ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਵਿਖੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਕੋਲ ਗਏ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਕਨਿੱਜ਼ੀ ਯਫ਼ੁੰਨਾਹ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਸੀ। ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਯਾਦ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਕਾਦੇਸ਼ ਬਰਨੇਆ ਵਿਖੇ ਆਖੀਆਂ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਮੂਸਾ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ।
