ਮਹਾਨ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸੋਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਬਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਖੂਹ ਪੁੱਟਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਮਾਰੂਥਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸੁਗਾਤ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਖੂਹ ਨੂੰ ‘ਮੱਤਾਨਾਹ’ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ।”
