ਬਨ-ਹਦਦ ਦਾ ਮੁੜ ਹਮਲਾ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੇਵਤਾ, ਪਰਬਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਤਕੜੇ ਹਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜੇ ਹਾਂ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਜਿੱਤ ਗਏ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੱਧਰੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੜਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫ਼ਿਰ ਜਿੱਤ ਅਵੱਸ਼ ਸਾਡੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

ਸਾਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਵਾਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕੌਣ ਬਚਾਵੇਗਾ? ਇਹ ਉਹੀ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮਿਸਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਬਿਮਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਰੋਗ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ।

ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ‘ਅਰਾਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਪਰਬਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਵਾਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਵੱਡੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਹਰਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹਾਂ।’”

ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਬਚਾਅ ਸੱਕੇ। ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਗੋਜ਼ਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਰਾਨ, ਰਸ਼ਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਅਦਨ ਦਿਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਤੱਲਾਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਡੇਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ, ਛੁਡਾਇਆ ਸੀ?

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਲਈ ਕੀ-ਕੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਚਾਅ ਸੱਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਰੋਕ ਸੱਕੇ।
ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 50:21
ਤੁਸਾਂ ਇਹ ਮੰਦੇ ਕਾਰੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਿਆ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਸਾਂ ਸੋਚਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੀ ਹਾਂ। ਅੱਛਾ, ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਲੰਮੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਖਾਮੋਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਾਂਗਾ। ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਨਮੁੱਖ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਲਜ਼ਾਮ ਲਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 121:1
ਮੰਦਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਿਆ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਗੀਤ। ਮੈਂ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਪਰ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਮਦਦ ਕਿੱਥੋਂ ਆਵੇਗੀ।

ਰੋਮੀਆਂ 1:21
ਲੋਕ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਸਨ, ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਵਾਂਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਕਰਗੁਜ਼ਾਰ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂਰਖ ਦਿਲ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਏ ਸਨ।
