1 Samuel 8:19
ਪਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਨਹੀਂ! ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਨਵਾਂ ਸ਼ਾਸਕ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰ ਸੱਕੇ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਲਾਕੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਵਰਤਣ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ! ਮੇਰਾ ਭਾਵ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਭੈਭੀਤ ਨੇ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਨਹੀਂ।”

ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬਦੀਆਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸੀ-ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਾਰ-ਬਾਰ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਜਵਾਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਹੋਣ। ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੈਠਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਹੋਣ। ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਓਹੋ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਉਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਓਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਚੰਗਾ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਪੈਸਾ ਬਨਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
