ਨਾਥਾਨ ਦਾ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕਣਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਨਾਥਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਨਾਥਾਨ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਕੋਲ ਆਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਅਮੀਰ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਗਰੀਬ।

ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਥ-ਸ਼ਬਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਸੁੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਸੰਭੋਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਤੋਂ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਮੁੜ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਲੜਕੇ ਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਲਿਆ। ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੀ।

ਫ਼ਿਰ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ 33 ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਰਾਜ ਕੀਤਾ। ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਨ: (ਦਾਊਦ) ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਬਥਸ਼ੂਆ, ਅੰਮੀਏਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਸੀ। ਬਥਸ਼ੂਆ ਨੇ ਚਾਰ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸ਼ਿਮਆ, ਸ਼ੋਬਾਬ, ਨਾਥਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਜੰਮੇ।

ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਜੰਮੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਹਨ: ਸ਼ੰਮੂਆ, ਸ਼ੋਬਾਬ, ਨਾਥਾਨ, ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ,

ਯੱਸੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਬਾਦਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। ਦਾਊਦ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ। (ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਰੀਯਾਹ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸੀ।)
