ਸਨਹੇਰੀਬ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਵੱਲ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ। ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਲਾਕੀਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੂੰ ਰਵਾਨਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਉਹ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਇੱਕ ਖਾਈ ਨੇੜੇ ਉੱਪਰ ਤਲਾਅ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੁਕ ਗਏ। ਉੱਪਰਲਾ ਤਲਾਅ ਧੋਬੀਘਾਟ ਵਾਲੀ ਸੜਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ।
