ਯਰਮਿਆਹ 31

1 ਨਵਾਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ, “ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ।”

2 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: “ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਬਚੇ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਮਾਰੂਬਲ ਅੰਦਰ ਅਰਾਮ ਲੱਭਣਗੇ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਓੱਥੇ ਅਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਤਲਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”

3 ਦੂਰ ਦੁਰਾਡਿਓ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰ ਦਰਸਾਉਣਾ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ।

4 ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਮੇਰੀ ਵਹੁਟੀਏ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸਾਰਾਂਗਾ। ਤੂੰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਮੁਲਕ ਬਣੇਁਗੀ। ਤੂੰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਤੰਬੂਰੀਆਂ ਚੁੱਕੇਂਗੀ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨੱਚੇਁਗੀ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਮਨਾ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ।

5 ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਕਿਸਾਨੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਫੇਰ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਗੀਚੇ ਬੀਜੋਁਗੇ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵੇਲਾਂ ਲਗਾਵੋਂਗੇ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਿਸਾਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਮਾਨਣਗੇ।

6 ਉਹ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਚੌਕੀਦਾਰ ਕੂਕ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਸੁਣਾਵੇਗਾ: ਆਓ, ਅਸੀਂ ਸੀਯੋਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਚੱਲੀਏ! ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੀ ਚੌਕੀਦਾਰ ਉਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਕੂਕ ਸੁਣਾਵੇਗਾ।”

7 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: “ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਲਈ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਵੋ! ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮਹਾਨ ਕੌਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਹਰੇ ਮਾਰੋ! ਉਸਤਤ ਗਾਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਹਰੇ ਮਾਰੋ: ‘ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ! ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਕੌਮ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਨੇ।’

8 ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡੀਆਂ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਜਾਂ ਵਿਕਲਾਂਗ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਕੁਝ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਗਰਭਵਤੀ, ਬੱਚੇ ਜਣਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ। ਪਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਉਣਗੇ।

9 ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਰੋਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਆਉਣਗੇ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਕੂਨ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਸੌਖੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਠੋਕਰਾਂ ਨਾ ਖਾਣ। ਮੈਂ ਓਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹਾਂ। ਅਤੇ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਹਿਲੋਠਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ।

10 ਕੌਮੋ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ, ਇਸ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣੋ! ਇਸ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਬਾਰੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਕੰਢੇ ਦੇ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੋ। ‘ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਿੰਡਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਇਕੱਠਿਆਂ ਲਿਆਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਅਯਾਲੀ ਵਾਂਗ ਆਪਣੇ ਇੱਜੜ (ਲੋਕਾਂ) ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ।’

11 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆਵੇਗਾ। ਯਾਕੂਬ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਨੇ।

12 ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਸੀਯੋਨ ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਉਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਹਰੇ ਮਾਰਨਗੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਚਮਕਣਗੇ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਨਾਜ, ਨਵੀਂ ਮੈਅ, ਜ਼ੈਤੂਨ ਦਾ ਤੇਲ, ਲੇਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਗਾਵਾਂ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਉਸ ਬਾਗ਼ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਹੁਣ ਹੋਰ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਣਗੇ।

13 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁਟਿਆਰਾਂ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਕੇ ਨੱਚਣਗੀਆਂ। ਅਤੇ ਨਾਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁੱਢੇ ਅਤੇ ਗੱਭਰੂ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਕੂਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।

14 ਮੈਂ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਖਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰੱਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤੁਸ਼ਟ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ।” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ।

15 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: “ਰਾਮਾਹ ਅੰਦਰ ਇੱਕ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣਾਈ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ। ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਸਖਤ ਰੋਣ ਦੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਰਾਖੇਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਰੋ ਰਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਰਾਖੇਲ ਧੀਰਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਧਰੇਗੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਨ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਹੋਏ।”

16 ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: “ਰੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਰੁਕ ਜਾਓ! ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੰਝੂ ਨਾ ਭਰੋ! ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਮ ਦਾ ਇਨਾਮ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ।” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ। “ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਪਰਤ ਆਉਣਗੇ।

17 ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਅਜੇ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ।” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ। “ਤੇਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਪਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਆ ਜਾਣਗੇ।

18 ਮੈਂ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਦਿਆਂ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ: ‘ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ! ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਬਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਲਿਆ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਵੱਛੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਸਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਸਿੱਧਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਮਿਹਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣੋ ਰੁਕ ਜਾਓ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵੱਲ ਪਰਤ ਆਵਾਂਗਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੋ।

19 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਭਟਕ ਗਿਆ ਸਾਂ। ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਅਮਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਿਲ ਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਬਦਲ ਲਿਆ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੂਰੱਖਤਾ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਾਰਣ ਸ਼ਰਮਸਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਨਮੋਸ਼ੀ ਭਰਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਮੈਂ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਵੇਲੇ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ।’”

20 ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਅਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੜੀ ਵਾਰੀ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਪਰ ਹਾਲੇ ਵੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸਦਾ ਖਿਆਲ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ।

21 “ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਸੜਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਲਗਾ ਦੇਵੋ। ਅਜਿਹੇ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਰੱਖ ਦਿਓ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਦਰਸਾਉਣ। ਰਸਤੇ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕਰੋ। ਉਸ ਰਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖੋ, ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਮੇਰੀ ਵਹੁਟੀਏ, ਘਰ ਆ ਜਾ। ਆਪਣੇ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਆ ਜਾ।

22 ਬੇਵਫ਼ਾ ਪੁੱਤਰੀਏ, ਤੂੰ ਕਿੰਨਾ ਕੁ ਚਿਰ ਇਧਰ ਓਧਰ ਭਟਕਦੀ ਰਹੇਂਗੀ? “ਤੂੰ ਕਦੋਂ ਘਰ ਪਰਤ ਕੇ ਆਵੇਂਗ? ਜਦੋਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਵੀਂ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ: ਆਦਮੀ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਔਰਤ।”

23 ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਮੈਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਪਸ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦੀ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ, ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਵਰਤਣਗੇ: ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇਵੇ, ਚੰਗੇ ਘਰ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪਰਬਤ!”

24 “ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ। ਕਿਸਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਇੱਜੜਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇਧਰ ਓਧਰ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਦੇ ਨੇ, ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ।

25 ਮੈਂ ਬੱਕੇ ਹਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਤਾਕਤ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।”

26 ਇਹ ਸੁਣਨ ਤੋਂ ਮਗਰੋਂ, ਮੈਂ ਜਾਗ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇਖਣ ਲੱਗਾ। ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਚੰਗੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਸੀ।

27 “ਆ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ ਦਿਨ,” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ, “ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧਣ ਫ਼ੁੱਲਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਧਣ ਫ਼ੁੱਲਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਇਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਬੂਟੇ ਨੂੰ ਬੀਜਣ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

28 ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਖਿਚਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਲਾਹ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ। ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ।” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ।

29 “ਲੋਕ ਹੋਰ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਇਸ ਕਹਾਉਤ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ: ‘ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਖਾਧੇ ਖੱਟੇ ਅੰਗੂਰ, ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਆ ਸੁਆਦ ਖੱਟਾ।18

30 ਨਹੀਂ, ਹਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਨਾਹ ਲਈ ਮਰੇਗਾ। ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬੰਦਾ ਖੱਟੇ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਓਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਖੱਟਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਆਵੇਗਾ।”

31 ਨਵਾਂ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖੀਆਂ, “ਸਮਾਂ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਨਵਾਂ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।

32 ਇਹ ਓਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਦੋਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥ ਫ਼ੜ ਕੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਤੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ।” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ।

33 “ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਇਕਰਾਰਨਾਮਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ। “ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਵਸਬਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਿਖ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਬੰਦੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ।

34 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਨ ਲਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਗਵਾਂਢੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਣੀ ਪਵੇਗੀ। ਕਿਉਂ? ਕਿਉਂ ਕਿ ਛੋਟੇ ਤੋਂ ਛੋਟੇ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਤੀਕ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਣਗੇ।” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ। “ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਫ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ।”

35 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੱਡੇਗਾ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ: “ਦਿਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸੂਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਚਮਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਰਾਤ ਵੇਲੇ ਚੰਨ ਤਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਮਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਿਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਕੰਢਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਟਕਰਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ। ਉਸਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਰਬ-ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੈ।” ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ:

36 “ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਕੌਮ ਬਣੀ ਰਹਿਣ ਤੋਂ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਟਣਗੇ। ਇਹ ਉਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਵਾਪਰੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਸੂਰਜ, ਚੰਨ, ਤਾਰਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਾਬੂ ਹਟ ਗਿਆ।”

37 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ: “ਮੈਂ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਿਆਗਾਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਉਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਵਾਪਰੇਗਾ, ਜੇ ਲੋਕ ਉੱਪਰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਪ ਲੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਭੇਤ ਜਾਣ ਲੈਣ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰਾਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗਾਂਗਾ। ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਉਦੋਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਖਾਤਰ ਤਿਆਗਾਂਗਾ।” ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸੀ।

38 ਨਵਾਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਇਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ, “ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ-ਹਨਨੇਲ ਦੇ ਮੀਨਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਨੁਕਰ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਤੀਕ।

39 ਨਾਪਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਫ਼ੀਤਾ ਨੁਕਰੇ ਦੇ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਧਾ ਗਾਰੇਬ ਦੀ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਤੀਕ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਗੋਆਹ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਫ਼ੈਲਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

40 ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੁਰਦਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਬੀਆਂ ਸੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਦਰੋਨ ਵਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਤਕ ਫ਼ੈਲੇ ਪੌੜੀਦਾਰ ਖੇਤ ਘੋੜ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਕੋਨੇ ਤੀਕ, ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਸਾਰਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਢਾਹਿਆ ਜਾਂ ਤਬਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”

1 At the same time, saith the Lord, will I be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.

2 Thus saith the Lord, The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

3 The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

4 Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry.

5 Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.

6 For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the Lord our God.

7 For thus saith the Lord; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O Lord, save thy people, the remnant of Israel.

8 Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, and with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.

9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

10 Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.

11 For the Lord hath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the hand of him that was stronger than he.

12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

14 And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the Lord.

15 Thus saith the Lord; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.

16 Thus saith the Lord; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the Lord; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

17 And there is hope in thine end, saith the Lord, that thy children shall come again to their own border.

18 I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning himself thus; Thou hast chastised me, and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke: turn thou me, and I shall be turned; for thou art the Lord my God.

19 Surely after that I was turned, I repented; and after that I was instructed, I smote upon my thigh: I was ashamed, yea, even confounded, because I did bear the reproach of my youth.

20 Is Ephraim my dear son? is he a pleasant child? for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the Lord.

21 Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.

22 How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the Lord hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.

23 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring again their captivity; The Lord bless thee, O habitation of justice, and mountain of holiness.

24 And there shall dwell in Judah itself, and in all the cities thereof together, husbandmen, and they that go forth with flocks.

25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.

26 Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.

27 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Judah with the seed of man, and with the seed of beast.

28 And it shall come to pass, that like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over them, to build, and to plant, saith the Lord.

29 In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children’s teeth are set on edge.

30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.

31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:

32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

35 Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is his name:

36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.

37 Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.

38 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that the city shall be built to the Lord from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner.

39 And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath.

40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the Lord; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more for ever.
