ਯਸ਼ਵਾ 15
1 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਲਈ ਧਰਤੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਵੰਡੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਅਦੋਮ ਅਤੇ ਦੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਸੀਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਰੂਥਲ ਵੱਲ ਟੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਤੀਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ।
2 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਖਾਰੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਦੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਕੰਢੇ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ।
3 ਇਹ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਦੱਖਣ ਵੱਲ ਬਿੱਛੂ ਪਾਸ ਵੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਨ ਤੱਕ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਦੱਖਣ ਵੱਲ ਕਾਦੇਸ਼ ਬਰਨੇਆ ਵੱਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ। ਸਰਹੱਦ ਹਸ਼ਰੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਅੱਗੇ ਅੱਦਾਰ ਤੀਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ। ਅੱਦਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਰਕਾ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ।
4 ਸਰਹੱਦ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਝਰਨੇ ਅਸਮੋਨ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਮੱਧ ਸਾਗਰ ਵੱਲ। ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ।
5 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਬੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਖਾਰੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਤੱਕ ਸੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਸਾਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗਦੀ ਸੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਉਸ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਯਰਦਨ ਨਦੀ ਖਾਰੇ ਸਾਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗਦੀ ਸੀ।
6 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਬੈਤ ਹਗਲਾਹ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤ ਅਰਬਾਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਸਰਹੱਦ ਬੋਹਨ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਿਲਾ ਤੱਕ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। (ਬੋਹਨ ਰਊਬੇਨ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ।)
7 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਆਕੋਰ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੋਈ ਦਬਿਰ ਤੱਕ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਉੱਥੋਂ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਉੱਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਉਸ ਸੜਕ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਅਦੋਮੀਮ ਦੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਤੋਂ ਹੋਕੇ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਝਰਨੇ ਦੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੱਲ ਹੈ। ਸਰਹੱਦ ਏਨਸ਼ਮਸ਼ ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਸਰਹੱਦ ਏਨ ਰੋਗੇਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਖਤਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ।
8 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਯਬੂਸੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਪਾਸੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਬਨ ਹਿੰਨੋਮ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘਦੀ ਹੈ। (ਉਸ ਯਬੂਸੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਸੀ।) ਉਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਹਿੰਨੋਮ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੇ ਦੇ ਪੱਛਮ ਵੱਲ ਪਹਾੜ ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਤੱਕ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਰਫ਼ਾਈਮ ਵਾਦੀ ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਸਿਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ।
9 ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਨਫ਼ਤੋਂਆ ਦੇ ਝਰਨੇ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੱਕ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਅਫ਼ਰੋਨ ਪਰਬਤ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਮੁੜ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਆਲਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। (ਬਆਲਾਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਿਰਯਥ ਯਾਰੀਮ ਵੀ ਹੈ।)
10 ਬਆਲਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਕੇ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਪੱਛਮ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਸੇਈਰ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਸਰਹੱਦ ਯਾਰੀਮ ਪਰਬਤ (ਕਸਾਲੋਨ) ਦੇ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਪਾਸੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਬੈਤ ਸ਼ਮਸ਼ ਤੱਕ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਉੱਥੋਂ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਤਿਮਨਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
11 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਅਕਰੋਨ ਦੀ ਉੱਤਰ ਵੱਲ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਤੱਕ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਸ਼ਿਕਰੋਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਆਲਾਹ ਪਰਬਤ ਦੇ ਪਾਰ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ। ਸਰਹੱਦ ਯਬਨੇਲ ਤੱਕ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਧ ਸਾਗਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਕੇ ਮੁੱਕਦੀ ਸੀ।
12 ਮੱਧ ਸਾਗਰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਾਰ ਸਰਹੱਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਸੀ। ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਇਸ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
13 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਯਫ਼ੁੰਨਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਣ ਦਾ ਆਦੇਸ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਿਸਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਰਯਥ ਅਰਬਾ (ਹਬਰੋਨ) ਦਾ ਕਸਬਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ। (ਅਰਬਾ ਅਨੋਕ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੀ)
14 ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੇ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਿੰਨ ਅਨਾਕੀ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ, ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇਹ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਸਨ ਸ਼ੇਸ਼ੈ, ਅਹੀਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਲਮੈ। ਉਹ ਅਨੋਕ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਨ।
15 ਫ਼ੇਰ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੇ ਦਬਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਾਈ ਲੜੀ। (ਅਤੀਤ ਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਬਿਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਕਿਰਯਥ ਸੇਫ਼ਰ ਵੀ ਸੀ।)
16 ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੈਂ ਕਿਰਯਥ ਸੇਫ਼ਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਧੀ ਅਕਸਾਹ ਦਾ ਡੋਲਾ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾਵੇਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਧੀ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।”
17 ਆਥਨੀਏਲ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਕਨਜ਼ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਆਥਨੀਏਲ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਧੀ ਅਕਸਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ ਆਥਨੀਏਲ ਨਾਲ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
18 ਅਕਸਾਹ ਆਥਨੀਏਲ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ। ਆਥਨੀਏਲ ਨੇ ਅਕਸਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਧਰਤੀ ਮੰਗੇ। ਅਕਸਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੋਲ ਗਈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਧੇ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਤਰੀ ਤਾਂ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ, “ਤੂੰ ਕੀ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ?”
19 ਅਕਸਾਹ ਨੇ ਜਵਾਬ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅਸੀਸਾਂ ਦੇ। ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨੇਗੇਵ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਕੀ ਮਾਰੂ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ। ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਾਲੀ ਵੀ ਕੁਝ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਦੇ।” ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਾਲੇਬ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹੋ ਕੁਝ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਪਰਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੇਠਲੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੰਧਾਂ ਸਨ।
20 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਲੈ ਲਈ ਜਿਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਹਰ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ।
21 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਨੇਗੇਵ ਦੇ ਦੱਖਣੀ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਮਿਲ ਗਏ। ਇਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਦੋਮ ਦੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਸਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਇਹ ਹੈ: ਕਬਸਏਲ, ਏਦਰ, ਯਾਗੂਰ,
22 ਕੀਨਾਹ, ਦੀਮੋਨਾਹ, ਅਦਾਦਾਹ,
23 ਕਦਸ਼, ਹਾਸੋਰ, ਯਿਥਨਾਨ,
24 ਜ਼ੀਫ਼, ਤਲਮ, ਬਆਲੋਥ,
25 ਹਾਸੋਰ, ਹੱਦਤਾਹ, ਕਰੀਯੋਥ ਹਸਰੋਨ (ਹਾਸੋਰ),
26 ਅਮਾਮ, ਸ਼ਮਾ, ਮੋਲਾਦਾਹ,
27 ਹਸਰ ਗੱਦਾਹ, ਹਸ਼ਮੋਨ, ਬੈਤ ਪਾਲਟ,
28 ਹਸਰ ਸ਼ੂਆਲ, ਬਏਰ-ਸ਼ਬਾ, ਬਿਜ਼ਯੋਥਯਾਹ,

30 ਅਲਤੋਂਲਦ, ਕਸੀਲ, ਹਾਰਮਾਹ,
31 ਸਿਕਲਾਗ, ਮਦਮੰਨਾਹ, ਸਨਸੰਨਾਹ,
32 ਲਬਾਓਥ, ਸ਼ਿਲਹਿਮ, ਅਯਿਨ ਅਤੇ ਰਿੰਮੋਨ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ 29 ਕਸਬੇ ਸਨ।
33 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਤਰਾਈ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਵੀ ਮਿਲੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਇਹ ਹੈ: ਅਸ਼ਤਾਓਲ, ਸਾਰਾਹ, ਅਸ਼ਨਾਹ,
34 ਜ਼ਾਨੋਅਹ, ਏਨ ਗੱਨੀਮ, ਤੱਪੂਆਹ, ਏਨਾਮ,
35 ਯਰਮੂਥ, ਅੱਦੁਲਾਮ, ਸੋਕੋਹ, ਅਜ਼ੇਕਾਹ,
36 ਸ਼ਅਰਯਿਮ, ਅਦੀਥਾਯਿਮ ਅਤੇ ਗਦੇਰਾਹ ਗਦੇਰੋਥਯਿਮ ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਉੱਥੇ 14 ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ ਸਨ।
37 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ-ਸਮੂਹ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ: ਸਨਾਨ, ਹਾਦਾਸ਼ਾਹ, ਮਿਗਦਲ ਗਾਦ,
38 ਦਿਲਾਨ, ਮਿਸਪਹ, ਯਾਕਥਏਲ,
39 ਲਾਕੀਸ਼, ਬਾਸੱਕਥ, ਅਗਲੋਨ,
40 ਕੱਬੋਨ, ਲਹਮਾਸ, ਕਿਥਲੀਸ਼,
41 ਗਦੇਰੋਥ, ਬੈਤ ਦਾਗੋਨ, ਨਅਮਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਕੇਦਾਹ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਇਹ 16 ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਖੇਤ ਸਨ।
42 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਵੀ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕੀਤੇ: ਲਿਬਨਾਹ, ਅਥਰ, ਆਸ਼ਾਨ,
43 ਯਿਫ਼ਤਾਹ, ਅਸ਼ਨਾਹ, ਨਸੀਬ,
44 ਕਈਲਾਹ, ਅਕਜ਼ੀਬ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਰੇਸ਼ਾਹ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਨੌ ਕਸਬੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਰਦ-ਗਿਰਦ ਖੇਤ ਸਨ।
45 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਰੋਨ ਦਾ ਕਸਬਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤ ਵੀ ਮਿਲੇ।
46 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਰੋਨ ਦੇ ਪੱਛਮ ਵੱਲ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਵੀ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ਦੋਦ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖੇਤ ਅਤੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਵੀ।
47 ਅਸ਼ਦੋਦ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਛੋਟੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਸਨ। ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦਾ ਇਲਾਕਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ ਅਤੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਵੀ ਮਿਲੇ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੀ ਨਦੀ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਮੱਧ ਸਾਗਰ ਦੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਸੀ।
48 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਇਹ ਹੈ: ਸ਼ਾਮੀਰ, ਯੱਤੀਰ, ਸੋਕੋਹ,
49 ਦੰਨਾਹ, ਕਿਰਯਥ ਸੰਨਾਹ (ਦਬਿਰ),
50 ਅਨਾਬ, ਅਸ਼ਤਮੋਹ, ਅਨੀਮ,
51 ਗੋਸ਼ਨ, ਹੋਲੋਨ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਲੋਹ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਇਹ 11 ਕਸਬੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਖੇਤ ਸਨ।
52 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ: ਅਰਾਬ, ਦੂਮਾਹ, ਅਸ਼ਾਨ,
53 ਯਾਨੀਮ, ਬੈਤ ਤੱਪੂਆਹ, ਅਫ਼ੇਕਾਹ
54 ਹੁਮਤਾਹ, ਕਿਰਯਥ ਅਰਬਾ (ਹਬਰੋਨ) ਅਤੇ ਸੀਓਰ। ਇਹ 9 ਕਸਬੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ ਸਨ।
55 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ: ਮਾਓਨ, ਕਰਮਲ, ਜ਼ੀਫ਼, ਯੂਟਾਹ
56 ਯਿਜ਼ਰਏਲ, ਯਾਕਦਾਮ, ਜ਼ਾਨੋਅਹ,
57 ਕਯਿਨ, ਗਿਬਾਹ, ਅਤੇ ਤਿਮਨਾਹ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਇਹ 10 ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ ਸਨ।
58 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਸਬੇ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ: ਹਲਹੂਲ ਬੈਤ ਸੂਰ, ਗਦੋਰ,
59 ਮਅਰਾਥ, ਬੈਤ ਅਨੋਥ ਅਤੇ ਅਲਤਕੋਨ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਇਹ 6 ਕਸਬੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਖੇਤ ਸਨ।
60 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਬਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਰਯਥ ਬਆਲ (ਕਿਰਯਥ ਯਾਰੀਮ) ਦੇ ਦੋ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ।
61 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰੂਥਲ ਦੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਸਬਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੂਚੀ ਇਹ ਹੈ: ਬੈਤ ਅਰਾਬਾਹ, ਮਿੱਦੀਨ, ਸੱਕਾਕਾਹ,
62 ਨਿਬਸ਼ਾਨ, ਸਾਲਟ ਸਿਟੀ ਅਤੇ ਏਨ ਗੱਦੀ। ਕੁੱਲ ਮਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਇਹ 6 ਕਸਬੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਖੇਤ ਸਨ।
63 ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਯਬੂਸੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੱਢ ਸੱਕੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਵੀ ਉੱਥੇ, ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ, ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਯਬੂਸੀ ਲੋਕ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
1 This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.
2 And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:
3 And it went out to the south side to Maaleh-acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh-barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:
4 From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.
5 And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:
6 And the border went up to Beth-hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:
7 And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel:
8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:
9 And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjath-jearim:
10 And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed on to Timnah:
11 And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.
12 And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.
13 And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.
14 And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.
15 And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher.
16 And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.
17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
18 And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?
19 Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.
20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.
21 And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,
22 And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,
23 And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,
24 Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,
25 And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,
26 Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,
27 And Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-palet,
28 And Hazar-shual, and Beer-sheba, and Bizjothjah,
29 Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,
30 And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

33 And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

36 And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:
37 Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal-gad,
38 And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,
39 Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,
40 And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,
41 And Gederoth, Beth-dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:
42 Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,
43 And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,
44 And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:
45 Ekron, with her towns and her villages:
46 From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:
47 Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:
48 And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,
49 And Dannah, and Kirjath-sannah, which is Debir,
50 And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,
51 And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:
52 Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,
53 And Janum, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah,
54 And Humtah, and Kirjath-arba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:
55 Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,
56 And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,
57 Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:
58 Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,

60 Kirjath-baal, which is Kirjath-jearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:
61 In the wilderness, Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah,
62 And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages.
63 As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
Jeremiah 20 in Tamil and English
1 ઈમ્મેરનો પુત્ર યાજક પાશહૂર યહોવાના મંદિરના રક્ષકોનો ઉપરી હતો. તેણે યમિર્યાને આવી ભવિષ્યવાણી ભાખતો સાંભળ્યો,
Now Pashur the son of Immer the priest, who was also chief governor in the house of the Lord, heard that Jeremiah prophesied these things.
2 તેથી તેણે યમિર્યાની ધરપકડ કરી અને તેને કોરડાથી ફટકાર્યો, પછી તેણે તેને મંદિરના બિન્યામીન દરવાજા આગળ સાંકળોથી બાધ્યો.
Then Pashur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the high gate of Benjamin, which was by the house of the Lord.
3 બીજા દિવસે સવારે પાશહૂરે યમિર્યાને હેડમાંથી છૂટો કર્યો ત્યારે યમિર્યાએ તેને કહ્યું, “યહોવા તને પાશહૂર નહિ કહે, પણ માગોર-મિસ્સાબીબ (સર્વત્ર ત્રાસ) કહેશે.
And it came to pass on the morrow, that Pashur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then said Jeremiah unto him, The Lord hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magor-missabib.
4 કારણ કે યહોવા તારા પર તથા તારા સર્વ મિત્રો પર ભય મોકલશે અને તેઓના શત્રુઓની તરવારોથી તેઓને તું મૃત્યુ પામતાં જોશે. આખો યહૂદિયા હું બાબિલના રાજાને સોંપી દઇશ. તે તેમને કેદ કરીને બાબિલ લઇ જશે અને ત્યાં તરવારથી મારી નાખશે.
For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them captive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.
5 આ શહેરની સર્વ સંપત્તિ, એના બધા ભંડારો અને કિમતી વસ્તુઓ, યહૂદિયાના રાજાનો બધો ખજાનો હું તેમના શત્રુઓને સોંપી દઇશ, શત્રુઓ લૂંટમાર કરીને એનો કબજો લેશે અને બાબિલ લઇ જવામાં આવશે.
Moreover I will deliver all the strength of this city, and all the labours thereof, and all the precious things thereof, and all the treasures of the kings of Judah will I give into the hand of their enemies, which shall spoil them, and take them, and carry them to Babylon.
6 તું, પાશહૂર, અને તારું કુટુંબ કેદ પકડાશો, તમને બાબિલ લઇ જવામાં આવશે, અને ત્યાં તમારું મોત થશે અને ત્યાં તમે દટાશો. તું અને તારા બધા મિત્રો, જેમને તેં ખોટી ભવિષ્યવાણી સંભળાવેલી છે.”‘
And thou, Pashur, and all that dwell in thine house shall go into captivity: and thou shalt come to Babylon, and there thou shalt die, and shalt be buried there, thou, and all thy friends, to whom thou hast prophesied lies.
7 પછી મેં કહ્યું, “હે યહોવા, તમે મને યુકિતપૂર્વક છેતર્યો છે. તમારા સંદેશાઓ આપવા માટે તમે મને દબાણ કર્યુ. કારણ કે મારા કરતાં તમે અતિ બળવાન છો. પરંતુ હવે હું બધા દિવસો હાંસીપાત્ર થયો છું અને સર્વ લોકો મારી મશ્કરી કરે છે.
O Lord, thou hast deceived me, and I was deceived: thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am in derision daily, every one mocketh me.
8 કેમ કે જ્યારે જ્યારે હું બોલું છું ત્યારે ત્યારે ઘાટાં પાડીને એક જ વાત કહેવાની છે, ‘હિંસા અને વિનાશ!’ હે યહોવા, તારી વાણી સંભળાવવાને કારણે આખો દિવસ મારે હાંસી અને નામોશી સહન કરવી પડે છે.”
For since I spake, I cried out, I cried violence and spoil; because the word of the Lord was made a reproach unto me, and a derision, daily.
9 હું જો એમ કહું કે, “હવે હું યહોવાને સંભારીશ નહિ, એને નામે બોલું જ નહિ.” તો તારી એ વાણી મારા અંગે અંગમાં ભંડારાયેલી આગની જેમ મારા અંતરમાં ભડભડી ઊઠે છે; અને હું તેને કાબૂમાં રાખવા મથું છું, પણ નથી રાખી શકતો.
Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
10 ચારે બાજુથી હું તેઓની ધમકીઓ ઉચ્ચારાતી સાંભળું છું અને મને ડર લાગે છે, તેઓ કહે છે, “આપણે ફરિયાદ કરીશું. જેઓ મારા મિત્રો હતા તેઓ સાવધાનીથી મને નિહાળે છે કે, ક્યારે ભયંકર ભૂલ કરી બેસું. તે પોતે જ ફસાઇ જશે અને ત્યારે આપણે તેના પર આપણું વૈર વાળીશું. તેઓ આ પ્રમાણે કહે છે.”
For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, say they, and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, saying, Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.
11 પરંતુ મહાન યોદ્ધાની જેમ યહોવા મારી પડખે ઊભા છે. તે પરાક્રમી તથા ભયાવહ છે. મારા જુલમગારો ઠોકર ખાશે, તેઓ નહિ ફાવે, તેઓ નિષ્ફળ જતાં ભારે ફજેત થશે; તેઓ બધી રીતે અપમાનિત થશે અને સદાને માટે તેઓ પર કલંક લાગશે.
But the Lord is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.
12 હે સૈન્યોના દેવ યહોવા, તમે સતનું પારખું કરો છો, મારા મનનો અને હૃદયનો તાગ લો છો; અને હું ઇચ્છું છું કે હું તમને એમના પર બદલો વાળતા જોવા પામુંં, કારણ કે મેં મારો દાવો ફકત તમને સોંપ્યો છે.
But, O Lord of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause.
13 યહોવાના ગીત ગાઓ, એમનાં ગુણગાન કરો. કારણ, તેણે દુષ્ટોના હાથમાંથી દરિદ્રીઓનું જીવન ઉગારી લીધુ છે.
Sing unto the Lord, praise ye the Lord: for he hath delivered the soul of the poor from the hand of evildoers.
14 તેમ છતાં મારા જન્મનો દિવસ શાપિત થાઓ!
Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.
15 તને પુત્ર થયો છે એવી વધામણી મારા પિતાને આપનાર માણસ શાપિત થાઓ.
Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A man child is born unto thee; making him very glad.
16 તે માણસના હાલ એ પુરાતન નગરોના જેવા થાવ. જેનો યહોવાએ દયા રાખ્યા વગર નાશ કર્યો છે, ભલે તેને આખો દિવસ રણનાદ સંભળાય; સવારમાં આર્તનાદ અને બપોરે યુદ્ધનાદ સંભળાય,
And let that man be as the cities which the Lord overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear the cry in the morning, and the shouting at noontide;
17 કારણ કે, તેણે મને ગર્ભમાં જ મારી ન નાખ્યો, તો મારી માતા જ મારી કબર બની હોત, તેનું ઉદર સદા માટે મોટું રહ્યું હોત.
Because he slew me not from the womb; or that my mother might have been my grave, and her womb to be always great with me.
18 હું કષ્ટો અને દુ:ખ સહન કરવા માટે, શરમાળ જીવન જીવવા માટે શું કામ ગર્ભમાંથી બહાર આવ્યો?
Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?
