1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਨਾ ਬਣੋ ਇਸੇ ਵਿੱਚਕਾਰ ਕਈ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਲੋਕ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਡਿੱਗਣ ਲੱਗੇ। ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਫ਼ਰੀਸੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਖਮੀਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਪਟ ਹੈ।

2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.ਅਜਿਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਛੁਪੀ ਹੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਜਾਹਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਗੁਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ ਉਹ ਚਾਨਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗ਼ਾ। ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬੰਦ ਕਮਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਸਰ-ਫੁਸਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਘਰ ਦੇ ਕੋਠਿਆਂ ਉੱਪਰੋਂ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਸੁਣਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।”

4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਡਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰੋ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ ਜੋ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਇਸਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਹ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ।

5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ? ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਨਰਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁੱਟਣ ਦਾ ਇਖਤਿਆਰ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਾਂ, ਉਹੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਡਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?“ਕੀ ਪੰਜ ਚਿੱੜੀਆਂ ਦੋ ਪੈਸਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿੱਕਦੀਆਂ? ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਇੱਕ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ।

7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.ਹਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਪਰ ਕਿੰਨੇ ਵਾਲ ਹਨ। ਡਰੋ ਨਹੀਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਉੱਤਮ ਹੋ।

8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:ਯਿਸੂ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਇਹ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕਰੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵੀ ਉਸਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਹੈ।

9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਵੀ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.“ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕੁਝ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ਼ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:“ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੇਕਰ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸਥਾਨਾ ਅੱਗੇ, ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬਚਾਵੋਂਗੇ ਜਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।

12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.ਘਬਰਾਓ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੂਝ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।”

13 And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਰਥ ਬਾਰੇ ਖਬਰਦਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਭੀੜ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਸੰਪਤੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੰਡਣ ਲਈ ਕਹੋ।”

14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?ਪਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹੇ ਆਦਮੀ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਮੁਨਸਫ਼ ਜਾਂ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਕਿਸਨੇ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ?”

15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸਾਵੱਧਾਨ ਰਹੋ! ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਲੋਭ-ਲਾਲਚ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਰੱਖੋ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਤੋਂ ਜੀਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ।”

16 And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਦਿੱਤਾ, “ਕਿਸੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਧਿਕ ਅਨਾਜ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।

17 And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਚਿਆ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਂ? ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਫ਼ਸਲ ਸਾਂਭਣ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ।’

18 And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.“ਤਦ ਅਮੀਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ? ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਦਾਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਢਾਹ ਕੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਗੁਦਾਮ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਣਕ ਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ।

19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਾਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਕਾਫੀ ਵੱਧੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਲਈ ਕਾਫੀ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅਰਾਮ ਕਰੋ ਖਾਵੋ-ਪੀਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਜ ਕਰੋ!’

20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?“ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ‘ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖ! ਅੱਜ ਰਾਤ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇਂਗਾ! ਫ਼ਿਰ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਕਿਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ?’

21 So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.“ਹਰ ਉਸ ਬੰਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਇਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮੀਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਅਮੀਰੀ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।”

22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਂਣ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਖਾਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਸਰੀਰ ਢੱਕਣ ਲਈ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਫ਼ਿਕਰ ਕਰੋ।

23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਖਾਣ ਤੋਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੱਧ ਮਹੱਤਵਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਕੱਪੜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ।

24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖੋ ਉਹ ਬੀਜਦੇ ਜਾਂ ਵਢਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਘਰਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਕੋਠਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਨਾਜ ਜਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਵੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੋਜਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਧ ਮੁੱਲਵਾਨ ਹੋ।

25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਪਲ ਵੱਧਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੰਨੀ ਛੋਟੀ ਗੱਲ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਾਕੀ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ?

27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.“ਜੰਗਲੀ ਫ਼ੁੱਲਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖੋ! ਦੇਖੋ ਉਹ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਵੱਧਦੇ ਹਨ! ਉਹ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਸਖਤ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਕੱਤਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਇੰਨੇ ਵੱਧੀਆ ਦਿਸਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਵੀ ਸਜਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।

28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤਾਂ ਖੇਤ ਵਿੱਚਲੇ ਘਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਉਂ ਪਹਿਰਾਵਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਘਾਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅੱਜ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕੱਲ ਭਠੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੱਚ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਹੇ ਥੋੜੀ ਪਰਤੀਤ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਕੀ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.“ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਨਾ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਰਹੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਖਾਵੋਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਪੀਵੋਂਗੇ? ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।

30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਭਾਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ।

31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.ਪਰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਲਈ ਚਾਹਨਾ ਕਰੋ। ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਇਹ ਬਾਕੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।

32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.ਧਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੋ “ਛੋਟੇ ਇੱਜੜ, ਡਰ ਨਾ! ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਦੇਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.ਇਸ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੰਪੰਤੀ ਵੇਚ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਦੇ। ਇਸ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀ ਅਮੀਰੀ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਜਾਨੇ ਸੁਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖੋ। ਇਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਲਈ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸੁਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਰ ਚੁਰਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੀੜੇ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ।

34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਿਲ ਵੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਰਹੋ “ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਰਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਚਮਕਦੀ ਰੱਖੋ।

36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋਵੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਦੀ ਦਾਅਵਤ ਤੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮਾਲਕ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਬੂਹਾ ਖੜਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਝੱਟ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ ਬੂਹਾ ਖੋਲ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.ਧੰਨ ਹਨ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਇੰਤਜਾਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮਾਲਕ ਖੁਦ ਲੱਕ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਬਿਠਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਟਹਿਲ ਕਰੇਗਾ।

38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਅੱਧੀ ਰਾਤ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਂ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਦੇਰ ਤੱਕ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰਨੀ ਪਵੇ। ਪਰ ਉਹ ਬੜੇ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.“ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਣਾ: ਜੇਕਰ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਸ ਵਕਤ ਚੋਰ ਨੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਣਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਚੋਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੜਨ ਹੀ ਨਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ।

40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਵਕਤ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਆਸ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।”

41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?ਵਫਾਦਾਰ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ? ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਪ੍ਰਭੂ! ਕੀ ਇਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ ਜਾਂ ਸਭਨਾ ਲਈ।”

42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਉਹ ਕਿਹੜਾ ਸਿਆਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸਯੋਗ ਨੌਕਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਠੀਕ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਸਮਗਰੀ ਦੀ ਪੂਰਤੀ ਲਈ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕਰੇਗ਼ਾ?

43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਨੌਕਰ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਆਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਪਾਵੇ।

44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੰਪਤੀ ਦਾ ਨਿਗਰਾਨ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕਰੇਗ਼ਾ।

45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;“ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੌਕਰ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਹੋਵੇਗ਼ਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇਹ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਨਿਕਟ ਭੱਵਿਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਰਤੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੌਕਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁੱਟਣਾ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਖਾਣ ਪੀਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਮਸਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ?

46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਉਦੋਂ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਵਕਤ ਤੋਂ ਅਵੇਸਲਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਮਾਲਕ ਉਸ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਖਤ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਜੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਘਾਤੀ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿਣ ਲਈ ਭੇਜ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।

47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.“ਜਿਹੜਾ ਨੌਕਰ ਇਹ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ, ਉਸਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਖਤ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।

48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.ਪਰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਨੌਕਰ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸਦਾ ਮਾਲਕ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਕੀ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਟ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਮਿਲੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਦਾ ਲੇਖਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਸੌਂਪਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਸਤੋਂ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਮੰਗਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।”

49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?ਲੋਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਸਹਿਮਤ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਲਾਉਣ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਸ਼ ਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਇਹ ਜਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ।

50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲੈਣਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ, ਜੋ ਵੱਖਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਇਹ ਪੂਰਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੀ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ? ਨਹੀਂ! ਮੈਂ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਡਣ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ।

52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.ਹੁਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਪੰਜਾਂ ਜਾਣਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ-ਦੂਸਰੇ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਵੰਡਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਤਿੰਨ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੋ ਤਿੰਨਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ।

53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.ਪਿਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਪੈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਪਿਉ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਉ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ। ਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਧੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਵੰਡ ਪੈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਮਾਂ ਧੀ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਧੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਸੱਸ ਅਤੇ ਨੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਵੰਡ ਪੈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਸੱਸ ਆਪਣੀ ਨੂੰਹ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਨੂੰਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।”

54 And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.ਵਕਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲਹਿੰਦੇ ਪਾਸਿਓ ਬੱਦਲ ਉੱਠਦਾ ਵੇਖਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ, ‘ਮੀਂਹ ਪੈਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ’ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤ ਹੀ ਮੀਂਹ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੱਖਣ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹਵਾ ਵਗਦੀ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ, ‘ਅੱਜ ਗਰਮੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ’, ਅਤੇ ਹਾਂ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਠੀਕ ਆਖਦੇ ਹੋ।

56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?ਕਪਟੀਓ! ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੌਸਮ ਦੇ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਸਮਝ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਮਝ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਜੋ ਹੁਣ ਵਾਪਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ?

57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਹੱਲ ਕਰੋ “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ ਉਸਦਾ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ?

58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison.ਮੰਨ ਲਵੋ ਕਿ ਇੱਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਚਿਹਰੀ ਲੈ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਝਗੜ੍ਹੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਲਝਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰੋ। ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੁਨਸਫ਼ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਨਸਫ਼ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੈਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਉਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਆਖਰੀ ਪੈਸਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਜਿਸਦੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਦੇਣਦਾਰ ਹੋ।”
