1 ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਲਈ: “ਸੋਸਨ ਦੀ ਧੁਨ।” ਕੋਰਹ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਭੱਗਤੀ ਗੀਤ। ਇੱਕ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਗੀਤ। ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਸੁਹਣੇ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਲਈ, ਲਿਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰੀ ਜ਼ੁਬਾਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਇਉਂ ਨਿਕਲਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੁਸ਼ਲ ਲਿਖਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਕਲਮ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
2 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧੇਰੇ ਸੁਹਣੇ ਹੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਚੰਗੇ ਵਕਤਾ ਹੋ। ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
3 ਆਪਣੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਪਹਿਨ ਲਵੋ। ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਾਨਦਾਰ ਵਰਦੀ ਪਾ ਲਵੋ।
4 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਅਦਭੁਤ ਦਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ। ਜਾਉ ਨੇਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਪੱਖਤਾ ਲਈ ਲੜਾਈ ਜਿੱਤੋਂ। ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਨੂੰ ਹੈਰਾਨੀ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸਿੱਖਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਸਨ।
5 ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਤੀਰ ਤਿੱਖੇ ਹਨ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਉਤਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਡਿੱਗਣਗੇ।
6 ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਤਖਤ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਹੈ। ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਹੈ।
7 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨੇਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਂ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੋਸਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਬਣਨ ਲਈ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਸੀ।
8 ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਸਤਰ ਮੁਰ, ਅਗਰ ਅਤੇ ਤੱਜ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਗੰਧਿਤ ਹਨ। ਇੱਥੋਂ ਹਾਥੀ ਦੰਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਜਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਮਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਮਨੋਰੰਜਨ ਲਈ ਸੰਗੀਤ ਦੀ ਧੁਨ ਉੱਠਦੀ ਹੈ।
9 ਵਹੁਟੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਸੁੱਚੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਤਾਜ ਪਹਿਨੇ ਹੋਏ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਲਾੜਾ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ।
10 ਧੀਏ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਣ, ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੀ, ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਮਝੀਂ। ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਬਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਲ ਜਾ।
11 ਰਾਜਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੁੰਦਰਤਾ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਪਤੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਸਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
12 ਸੂਰ ਦੇ ਅਮੀਰ ਲੋਕ ਸੁਗਾਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਆਉਣਗੇ।
13 ਸ਼ਹਿਜ਼ਾਦੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਿਬਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਖਾਲਸ ਸੋਨੇ ਦਾ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੈ। ਸੋਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੀਰੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਹੈ।
14 ਲਾੜੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਦੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪੁਸ਼ਾਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਾਜੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਗਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਲਾੜੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਹੇਲੀਆਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ-ਪਿੱਛੇ ਆਈਆਂ।
15 ਉਹ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਆਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀਆਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਾਖਲ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
16 ਰਾਜਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਹਾਕਮ ਬਣਾ ਦੇਵੋਂਗੇ।
17 ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਨਾਮ ਰੌਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ। ਲੋਕ ਸਦਾ-ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਨਗੇ।

2 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
3 Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
4 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
5 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
6 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.
7 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
8 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
9 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.
10 Kings’ daughters were among thy honourable women: upon thy right hand did stand the queen in gold of Ophir.
11 Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house;
12 So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.
13 And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour.
14 The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.
15 She shall be brought unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions that follow her shall be brought unto thee.
16 With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king’s palace.
17 Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth.
18 I will make thy name to be remembered in all generations: therefore shall the people praise thee for ever and ever.

1 ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਗੀਤ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ-ਆਪ ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
2 ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਕੀਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਸ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੱਸਣਗੇ।
O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
3 ਉਹ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਕੀਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਗਦਾਰ ਨਾਉਮੀਦ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ।
Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
4 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਨਾ ਸਿਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੋ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੌਰ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਉ।
Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
5 ਮੇਰੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਾਉ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੁਕਤੀਦਾਤਾ ਹੋ। ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਦਿਨ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
6 ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋਣਾ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖੋ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ। ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੋਮਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਦਰਸਾਉ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ।
Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
7 ਮੇਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਨਾਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਜਵਾਨ ਸਾਂ। ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਭ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਕਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰੋ।
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.
8 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਣ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਸਿੱਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਹੋਕੇ ਨਿਮ੍ਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਢੰਗ ਸਿੱਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਯਾਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਦਿਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਕਰਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗਲਤ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਚੰਗਿਆਈ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
For thy name’s sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
12 ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਣ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਦਿਖਾਵੇਗਾ।
What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
13 ਉਹ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਭੇਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
15 ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
16 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਤੇ ਇੱਕਲਾ ਹਾਂ। ਆਪਣਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਫ਼ੇਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਵਿਖਾਉ।
Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
17 ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰੋ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਲਝਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੋ।
The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
18 ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਜ਼ਮਾਇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿਉ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
19 ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖ, ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੰਨੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਟਾਂ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
20 ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਕੀਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
21 ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਹੋ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
22 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਬਚਾਉ।
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
