ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 49
1 ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਲਈ: ਕੋਰਹ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਗੀਤ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਮੂਹ ਕੌਮੋ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣੋ। ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਲੋਕੋ ਇਸ ਸਭ ਕਾਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣੋ।
2 ਅਮੀਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਗਰੀਬ ਹਰ ਬੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
3 ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਸਿਆਣੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਝਵਾਨ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੱਸਾਂਗਾ।
4 ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਸੁਣੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਬਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਗਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
5 ਜੇ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਆਵੇ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਡਰਾਂ। ਡਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੇ ਮੰਦੇ ਲੋਕੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁਆਲੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਫ਼ਸਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ।
6 ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੇਗੀ ਮੂਰਖ ਹਨ।
7 ਕੋਈ ਐਸਾ ਇਨਸਾਨੀ ਦੋਸਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਸੱਕੇ। ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਰਿਸ਼ਵਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਸੱਕਦੇ।
8 ਕੋਈ ਬੰਦਾ ਇੰਨਾ ਧਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਖਰੀਦ ਸੱਕੇ।
9 ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਇੰਨਾ ਧਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਜਿਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਉਹ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਜਿਉਣ ਦਾ ਹੱਕ ਖਰੀਦ ਸੱਕੇ। ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੜਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੇ।
10 ਦੇਖੋ, ਸਿਆਣੇ ਲੋਕ ਵੀ ਉਵੇਂ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੂਰਖ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਜੜ ਲੋਕ ਮਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਮਰ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
11 ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਬਰਾਂ ਹੀ ਸਦਾ-ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਉਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਵਾਂ ਘਰ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ। ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਕੋਈ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਵੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਹੋਣ।
12 ਲੋਕ ਅਮੀਰ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਇੱਥੇ ਟਿਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੱਕਦੇ।
13 ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਉਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਦੌਲਤ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
14 ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਬਸ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹਨ। ਕਬਰਿਸਤਾਨ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਾੜਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਮੌਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਜੜੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਸ ਸਵੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗੇ ਲੋਕ ਹੀ ਜੇਤੂ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਮਾਨੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੌਲੀ-ਹੌਲੀ ਕਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੜ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
15 ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੁੱਲ ਤਾਰੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਬਰ ਦੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
16 ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਅਮੀਰ ਹਨ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਲੀਸ਼ਾਨ ਮਕਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
17 ਉਹ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸੱਕਦੇ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਮਰਨਗੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਖੂਬਸੂਰਤ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
18 ਇੱਕ ਅਮੀਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਹਾਂ, ਹੋਰ ਲੋਕੀਂ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ।
19 ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਰਨ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਦਿਨ ਦੀ ਰੌਸ਼ਨੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖੇਗਾ।
20 ਲੋਕੀ ਅਮੀਰ ਹੋ ਸੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਸਮਝਣ ਉਹ ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਜਾਨਵਰਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਮਰਨਗੇ।

2 Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
3 Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
4 My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
5 I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
6 Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
7 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
8 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
9 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)
10 That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
11 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
12 Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.
13 Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
14 This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.
15 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
16 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
17 Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
18 For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
19 Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.
20 He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.
21 Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.

1 ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਗੀਤ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ-ਆਪ ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
2 ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਕੀਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਸ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੱਸਣਗੇ।
O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
3 ਉਹ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਕੀਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਗਦਾਰ ਨਾਉਮੀਦ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ।
Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
4 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਨਾ ਸਿਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੋ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੌਰ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਉ।
Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
5 ਮੇਰੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਾਉ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੁਕਤੀਦਾਤਾ ਹੋ। ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਦਿਨ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
6 ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋਣਾ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖੋ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ। ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੋਮਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਦਰਸਾਉ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ।
Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
7 ਮੇਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਨਾਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਜਵਾਨ ਸਾਂ। ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਭ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਕਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰੋ।
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.
8 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਣ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਸਿੱਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਹੋਕੇ ਨਿਮ੍ਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਢੰਗ ਸਿੱਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਯਾਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਦਿਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਕਰਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗਲਤ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਚੰਗਿਆਈ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
For thy name’s sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
12 ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਣ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਦਿਖਾਵੇਗਾ।
What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
13 ਉਹ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਭੇਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
15 ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
16 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਤੇ ਇੱਕਲਾ ਹਾਂ। ਆਪਣਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਫ਼ੇਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਵਿਖਾਉ।
Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
17 ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰੋ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਲਝਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੋ।
The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
18 ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਜ਼ਮਾਇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿਉ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
19 ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖ, ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੰਨੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਟਾਂ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
20 ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਕੀਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
21 ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਹੋ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
22 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਬਚਾਉ।
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
