1 ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਲਈ: “ਕਰਾਰ ਦੀ ਕੁਮਦਿਨੀ” ਦੀ ਧੁਨੀ ਲਈ ਆਸਾਫ਼ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਗੀਤ। ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਆਜੜੀ, ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਣੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਡਾਂ (ਲੋਕਾਂ) ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਤੇਜ ਦੇ ਕਰੂਬੀ ਉੱਪਰ ਰਾਜੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਬਿਰਾਜਮਾਨ ਹੋ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਦਿਉ।
2 ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਆਜੜੀ, ਆਪਣੀ ਮਹਾਨਤਾ ਇਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ, ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਲਈ ਦਰਸ਼ਾਉ।
3 ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰੋ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰੋ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉ।
4 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਦੋਂ ਸੁਣੋਂਗੇ। ਕੀ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਹਿਰਵਾਨ ਹੋਵੋਂਗੇ।
5 ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੰਝੂ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੰਝੂਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹੋਏ ਪਿਆਲੇ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੀਣ ਲਈ ਪਾਣੀ ਸੀ।
6 ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਝਗੜ੍ਹੇ ਦਾ ਕਰਣ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਸਾਡੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ।
7 ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰੋ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨ ਕਰੋ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉ।
8 ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਣ ਬੂਟੇ ਵਰਗਾ ਵਿਹਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ “ਵੇਲ” ਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਛੱਡਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ। ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ “ਵੇਲ” ਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਬੀਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
9 ਤੁਸੀਂ “ਵੇਲ” ਲਈ ਭੂਇ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤੀ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸਦੀ ਜੜ੍ਹ ਦੀ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤੀ ਲਈ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ “ਵੇਲ” ਸਾਰੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਫ਼ੈਲ ਗਈ।
10 ਇਸਨੇ ਪਰਬਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਢੱਕ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਇਸਦੇ ਪਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਦਿਉਦਾਰ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਛਾਂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ।
11 ਇਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸ਼ਾਖਾਵਾਂ ਭੂਮੱਧ ਸਾਗਰ ਤੱਕ ਫ਼ੈਲ ਗਈਆਂ ਇਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਟਹਿਣੀਆਂ ਫ਼ਰਾਤ ਨਦੀ ਤੱਕ ਫ਼ੈਲ ਗਈਆਂ।
12 ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਕੰਧਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਢਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ “ਵੇਲ” ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਹੁਣ ਹਰ ਲੰਘਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਇਸਦੇ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਤੋੜ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
13 ਜੰਗਲੀ ਸੂਰ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ “ਵੇਲ” ਨੂੰ ਲਤਾੜ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਜੰਗਲੀ ਜਾਨਵਰ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੇ ਪੱਤੇ ਖਾ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
14 ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਆਉ ਅਤੇ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਆਪਣੀ “ਵੇਲ” ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖੋ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
15 ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਆਪਣੀ ਵੇਲ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖੋ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥੀਂ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਜਵਾਨ ਬੂਟੇ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖੋ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਉਗਾਇਆ ਸੀ।
16 ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਝਿੜਕ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਸੁੱਕੇ ਗੋਹੇ ਵਾਂਗ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
17 ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਕੋਲ ਪਹੁੰਚੋ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਖੜੋਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਖਾਤਿਰ ਵੱਧਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।
18 ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਤੋਂ ਬੇਮੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵਾਂਗੇ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਬੁਲਾਏ ਜਾਈਏ।
19 ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਬਚਾਏ ਜਾਵਾਂਗੇ।

2 Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, thou that leadest Joseph like a flock; thou that dwellest between the cherubims, shine forth.
3 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh stir up thy strength, and come and save us.
4 Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
5 O Lord God of hosts, how long wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?
6 Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.
7 Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbours: and our enemies laugh among themselves.
8 Turn us again, O God of hosts, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
9 Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt: thou hast cast out the heathen, and planted it.
10 Thou preparedst room before it, and didst cause it to take deep root, and it filled the land.
11 The hills were covered with the shadow of it, and the boughs thereof were like the goodly cedars.
12 She sent out her boughs unto the sea, and her branches unto the river.
13 Why hast thou then broken down her hedges, so that all they which pass by the way do pluck her?
14 The boar out of the wood doth waste it, and the wild beast of the field doth devour it.
15 Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine;
16 And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
17 It is burned with fire, it is cut down: they perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
18 Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.
19 So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
20 Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.

1 ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਗੀਤ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ-ਆਪ ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
2 ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਕੀਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਸ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ। ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੱਸਣਗੇ।
O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
3 ਉਹ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਕੀਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਪਰ ਗਦਾਰ ਨਾਉਮੀਦ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ।
Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
4 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਤੁਰਨਾ ਸਿਖਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੋ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੌਰ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਉ।
Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.
5 ਮੇਰੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਾਉ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੁਕਤੀਦਾਤਾ ਹੋ। ਮੈਂ ਹਰ ਦਿਨ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
6 ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ ਹੋਣਾ ਚੇਤੇ ਰੱਖੋ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ। ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੋਮਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਦਰਸਾਉ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਦਾ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ।
Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
7 ਮੇਰੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੁਨਾਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਮੰਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਜਵਾਨ ਸਾਂ। ਆਪਣੇ ਸੁਭ ਨਾਮ ਸਦਕਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰੋ।
Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.
8 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਪਾਪੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਣ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਸਿੱਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 ਉਹ ਖੁਦ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਹੋਕੇ ਨਿਮ੍ਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਢੰਗ ਸਿੱਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
10 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਦਯਾਵਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਦਿਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਕਰਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਨੁਸਰਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗਲਤ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਚੰਗਿਆਈ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
For thy name’s sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
12 ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਣ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਦਿਖਾਵੇਗਾ।
What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
13 ਉਹ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ, ਜਿਸਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਭੇਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਰਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
15 ਮੈਂ ਸਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਤੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
16 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਤੇ ਇੱਕਲਾ ਹਾਂ। ਆਪਣਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਫ਼ੇਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਹਰ ਵਿਖਾਉ।
Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
17 ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰੋ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਲਝਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੋ।
The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
18 ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਜ਼ਮਾਇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰ ਦਿਉ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ।
Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
19 ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਵੇਖ, ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੰਨੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਟਾਂ ਮਾਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
20 ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਕੀਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।
O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
21 ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਚਮੁੱਚ ਸ਼ੁਭ ਹੋ। ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੋ।
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
22 ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਬਚਾਉ।
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
