ਨਾਓਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਰੂਥ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਦੇ ਕਸਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਗਈਆਂ। ਜਦੋਂ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਉਤਸੁਕ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਇਹ ਤਾਂ ਨਾਓਮੀ ਹੈ?”

seeketh	יְבַקֶּשׁ	yĕbaqqeš	yeh-va-KESH
knowledge:	דָּ֑עַת	dāʿat	DA-at
but the mouth	וּפִ֥ני	ûpiny	oo-FEEN-y
of fools	כְ֝סִילִ֗ים	kĕsîlîm	HEH-see-LEEM

come were they when	וַיְהִ֗י	wayhî	vai-HEE
to Bethlehem,	כְּבֹאָ֙נָה֙	kĕbōʾānāh	keh-voh-AH-NA
that all	בֵּ֣ית	bêt	bate
the city	לֶ֔חֶם	leḥem	LEH-hem
moved was	וַתֵּהֹ֤ם	wattēhōm	va-tay-HOME
about	כָּל	kāl	kahl
them, and they said,	הָעִיר֙	hāʿîr	ha-EER
Is this	עֲלֵיהֶ֔ן	ʿălêhen	uh-lay-HEN
Naomi?	וַתֹּאמַ֖רְנָה	wattōʾmarnâ	va-toh-MAHR-na
	הֲזֹ֥את	hăzōt	huh-ZOTE
	נָֽעֳמִֽי׃	nāʿŏmî	NA-oh-MEE
