Zephaniah 1:13
ਤਦ ਓਪਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਧਨ ਲੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਗੇ। ਉਸ ਵਕਤ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਉਸਾਰੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਉਹ ਆਪ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਰਹਿ ਸੱਕਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪੇ ਅੰਗੂਰੀ ਬੀਜ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੈਅ ਨਾ ਪੀ ਸੱਕਣਗੇ-ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮਲਕੀਅਤ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।”

| a desolation: | לִשְׁמָמָ֑ה | lišmāmâ | leesh-ma-MA |
| they shall also build | וּבָנ֤וּ | ûbānû | oo-va-NOO |
| houses, | בָתִּים֙ | bottîm | voh-TEEM |
| but not | וְלֹ֣א | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| inhabit | יֵשֵׁ֔בוּ | yēšēbû | yay-SHAY-voo |
| them; and they shall plant | וְנָטְע֣וּ | wĕnoṭʿû | veh-note-OO |
| vineyards, | כְרָמִ֔ים | kĕrāmîm | heh-ra-MEEM |
| but not | וְלֹ֥א | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| drink | יִשְׁתּ֖וּ | yištû | yeesh-TOO |
| אֶת | ʾet | et | |
| the wine | יֵינָֽם׃ | yênām | yay-NAHM |
