1 Samuel 14:17
సౌలుమీరు లెక పెట్టి మనయొద్ద లేనివారెవరో చూడుడని తనయొద్దనున్న జనులతో చెప్పెను. వారు లెక్క చూచి యోనాతానును అతని ఆయుధములు మోయువాడును లేరని తెలిసికొనిరి.

| him, Number | פִּקְדוּ | piqdû | peek-DOO |
| now, | נָ֣א | nāʾ | na |
| and see | וּרְא֔וּ | ûrĕʾû | oo-reh-OO |
| who | מִ֖י | mî | mee |
| gone is | הָלַ֣ךְ | hālak | ha-LAHK |
| from | מֵֽעִמָּ֑נוּ | mēʿimmānû | may-ee-MA-noo |
| us. And when they had numbered, | וַֽיִּפְקְד֔וּ | wayyipqĕdû | va-yeef-keh-DOO |
| behold, | וְהִנֵּ֛ה | wĕhinnē | veh-hee-NAY |
| Jonathan | אֵ֥ין | ʾên | ane |
| and his armourbearer | יֽוֹנָתָ֖ן | yônātān | yoh-na-TAHN |
| וְנֹשֵׂ֥א | wĕnōśēʾ | veh-noh-SAY | |
| were not | כֵלָֽיו׃ | kēlāyw | hay-LAIV |
