Genesis 42:24
అతడు వారియొద్దనుండి అవతలకు పోయి యేడ్చి, మరల వారియొద్దకు వచ్చి వారితో మాటలాడి, వారిలో షిమ్యో నును పట్టుకొని వారి కన్నుల ఎదుట అతని బంధించెను.

| wept; and them, | וַיֵּ֑בְךְּ | wayyēbĕk | va-YAY-vek |
| and returned | וַיָּ֤שָׁב | wayyāšob | va-YA-shove |
| to | אֲלֵהֶם֙ | ʾălēhem | uh-lay-HEM |
| communed and again, them | וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר | waydabbēr | vai-da-BARE |
| with | אֲלֵהֶ֔ם | ʾălēhem | uh-lay-HEM |
| them, and took | וַיִּקַּ֤ח | wayyiqqaḥ | va-yee-KAHK |
| from them | מֵֽאִתָּם֙ | mēʾittām | may-ee-TAHM |
| אֶת | ʾet | et | |
| Simeon, | שִׁמְע֔וֹן | šimʿôn | sheem-ONE |
| and bound him before | וַיֶּֽאֱסֹ֥ר | wayyeʾĕsōr | va-yeh-ay-SORE |
| אֹת֖וֹ | ʾōtô | oh-TOH | |
