1 And the whole multitude of them, rising up, led him to Pilate.అంతట వారందరును లేచి ఆయనను పిలాతునొద్దకు తీసికొనిపోయి

2 And they began to accuse him, saying, We have found this [man] perverting our nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, saying that he himself is Christ, a king.ఇతడు మా జనమును తిరుగబడ ప్రేరేపించుచు, కైసరునకు పన్నియ్యవద్దనియు, తానే క్రీస్తను ఒక రాజుననియు చెప్పగా మేము వింటిమని ఆయనమీద నేరము మోపసాగిరి.

3 And Pilate demanded of him saying, Art *thou* the king of the Jews? And he answering him said, Thou sayest.పిలాతు నీవు యూదుల రాజువా అని ఆయనను అడుగగా ఆయననీ వన్నట్టే అని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

4 And Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, I find no guilt in this man.పిలాతు ప్రధాన యాజకులతోను జనసమూహములతోనుఈ మనుష్యుని యందు నాకు ఏ నేరమును కనబడలేద నెను.

5 But they insisted, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judaea, beginning from Galilee even on to here.అయితే వారుఇతడు గలిలయదేశము మొద లుకొని ఇంతవరకును యూదయదేశమందంతట ఉపదేశించుచు ప్రజలను రేపు చున్నాడని మరింత పట్టుదలగా చెప్పిరి.

6 But Pilate, having heard Galilee [named], demanded if the man were a Galilaean;పిలాతు ఈ మాట వినిఈ మనుష్యుడు గలిలయుడా అని అడిగి

7 and having learned that he was of Herod's jurisdiction, remitted him to Herod, who himself also was at Jerusalem in those days.ఆయన హేరోదు అధికారము క్రింద ఉన్న ప్రదేశపు వాడని తెలిసికొని హేరోదునొద్దకు ఆయనను పంపెను. హేరోదు ఆ దినములలో యెరూషలేములో ఉండెను.

8 And when Herod saw Jesus he greatly rejoiced, for he had been a long while desirous of seeing him, because of hearing many things concerning him, and he hoped to see some sign done by him;హేరోదు యేసును చూచి మిక్కిలి సంతోషించెను. ఆయననుగూర్చి చాల సంగతులు విన్నందున ఆయన ఏదైనను ఒక సూచక క్రియ చేయగా చూడ నిరీక్షించి, బహుకాలమునుండి ఆయనను చూడగో రెను.

9 and he questioned him in many words, but *he* answered him nothing.ఆయనను చూచినప్పుడు చాల ప్రశ్నలువేసినను ఆయన అతనికి ఉత్తరమేమియు ఇయ్యలేదు.

10 And the chief priests and the scribes stood and accused him violently.ప్రధానయాజకులును శాస్త్రులును నిలువబడి ఆయనమీద తీక్షణముగా నేరము మోపిరి.

11 And Herod with his troops having set him at nought and mocked him, having put a splendid robe upon him, sent him back to Pilate.హేరోదు తన సైనికులతో కలిసి, ఆయనను తృణీకరించి అపహసించి, ఆయనకు ప్రశస్తమైన వస్త్రము తొడిగించి పిలాతునొద్దకు మరల పంపెను.

12 And Pilate and Herod became friends with one another the same day, for they had been at enmity before between themselves.అంతకు ముందు హేరోదును పిలాతును ఒకనికొకడు శత్రువులై యుండి ఆ దినముననే యొకనికొకడు మిత్రులైరి.

13 And Pilate, having called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,అంతట పిలాతు ప్రధానయాజకులను అధికారులను ప్రజలను పిలిపించి

14 said to them, Ye have brought to me this man as turning away the people [to rebellion], and behold, I, having examined him before you, have found nothing criminal in this man as to the things of which ye accuse him;ప్రజలు తిరుగబడునట్లు చేయు చున్నాడని మీరీమనుష్యుని నాయొద్దకు తెచ్చి తిరే. ఇదిగో నేను మీయెదుట ఇతనిని విమర్శింపగా మీ రితని మీద మోపిన నేరములలో ఒక్కటైనను నాకు కనబడ

15 nor Herod either, for I remitted you to him, and behold, nothing worthy of death is done by him.హేరోదునకు కూడ కనబడలేదు.హేరోదు అతని మాయొద్దకు తిరిగి పంపెను గదా; ఇదిగో మరణ మునకు తగినదేదియు ఇతడు చేయలేదు.

16 Having chastised him therefore, I will release him.కాబట్టి నేనితనిని

17 ( Now he was obliged to release one for them at the feast.)శిక్షించి విడుదల చేయుదునని వారితో చెప్పగా

18 But they cried out in a mass saying, Away with this [man] and release Barabbas to us;వారందరు వీనిని చంపివేసి మాకు బరబ్బను విడుదల చేయుమని ఏకగ్రీవముగా కేకలువేసిరి.

19 who was one who, for a certain tumult which had taken place in the city, and [for] murder, had been cast into prison.వీడు పట్టణములో జరిగించిన యొక అల్లరి నిమిత్తమును నరహత్య నిమిత్తమును చెరసాలలో వేయబడినవాడు.

20 Pilate therefore, desirous to release Jesus, again addressed [them].పిలాతు యేసును విడుదల చేయగోరి వారితో తిరిగి మాటలాడినను.

21 But they cried out in reply saying, Crucify, crucify him.వారు వీనిని సిలువవేయుము సిలువవేయుము అని కేకలు వేసిరి.

22 And he said the third time to them, What evil then has this [man] done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will chastise him therefore and release him.మూడవ మారు అతడుఎందుకు? ఇతడు ఏ దుష్కార్యము చేసెను? ఇతనియందు మరణమునకు తగిన నేరమేమియు నాకు అగపడలేదు గనుక ఇతని శిక్షించి విడుదల చేతునని వారితో చెప్పెను.

23 But they were urgent with loud voices, begging that he might be crucified. And their voices [and those of the chief priests] prevailed.అయితే వారొకే పట్టుగా పెద్ద కేకలువేసి, వీనిని సిలువవేయుమని అడుగగా వారి కేకలే గెలిచెను.

24 And Pilate adjudged that what they begged should take place.కాగా వారడిగినట్టే జరుగవలెనని పిలాతు తీర్పుతీర్చి

25 And he released him who, for tumult and murder, had been cast into prison, whom they begged for, and Jesus he delivered up to their will.అల్లరి నిమిత్తమును నరహత్య నిమిత్త మును చెరసాలలో వేయబడియుండినవానిని వారడిగినట్టు వారికి విడుదలచేసి, యేసును వారికిష్టము వచ్చినట్టు చేయుటకు అప్పగించెను.

26 And as they led him away, they laid hold on a certain Simon, a Cyrenian, coming from the field, and put the cross upon him to bear it behind Jesus.వారాయనను తీసికొనిపోవుచుండగా పల్లెటూరినుండి వచ్చుచున్న కురేనీయుడైన సీమోనను ఒకని పట్టుకొని, యేసువెంట సిలువను మోయుటకు అతనిమీద దానిని పెట్టిరి.

27 And a great multitude of the people, and of women who wailed and lamented him, followed him.గొప్ప జనసమూహమును, ఆయననుగూర్చి రొమ్ముకొట్టు కొనుచు దుఃఖించుచున్న చాలమంది స్త్రీలును ఆయనను వెంబడించిరి.

28 And Jesus turning round to them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep over me, but weep over yourselves and over your children;యేసు వారివైపు తిరిగియెరూషలేము కుమార్తెలారా, నా నిమిత్తము ఏడ్వకుడి; మీ నిమిత్తమును మీ పిల్లల నిమిత్తమును ఏడ్వుడి.

29 for behold, days are coming in which they will say, Blessed [are] the barren, and wombs that have not borne, and breasts that have not given suck.ఇదిగో గొడ్రాండ్రును కనని గర్భములును పాలియ్యని స్తనములును ధన్యములైనవని చెప్పుదినములు వచ్చుచున్నవి.

30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall upon us; and to the hills, Cover us:అప్పుడుమామీద పడుడని పర్వతములతోను, మమ్ము కప్పుడని కొండలతోను జనులు చెప్పసాగుదురు.

31 for if these things are done in the green tree, what shall take place in the dry?వారు పచ్చిమ్రానుకే యీలాగు చేసినయెడల ఎండినదానికేమి చేయుదురో అని చెప్పెను.

32 Now two others also, malefactors, were led with him to be put to death.మరి యిద్దరు ఆయనతోకూడ చంపబడుటకు తేబడిరి; వారు నేరము చేసినవారు.

33 And when they came to the place which is called Skull, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, the other on the left.వారు కపాలమనబడిన స్థలమునకు వచ్చినప్పుడు అక్కడ కుడివైపున ఒకనిని ఎడమవైపున ఒకనిని ఆ నేరస్థులను ఆయనతో కూడ సిలువవేసిరి.

34 And Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. And, parting out his garments, they cast lots.యేసు తండ్రీ, వీరేమి చేయుచున్నారో వీరెరుగరు గనుక వీరిని క్షమించుమని చెప్పెను. వారు ఆయన వస్త్రములు పంచుకొనుటకై చీట్లువేసిరి.

35 And the people stood beholding, and the rulers also [with them] sneered, saying, He has saved others; let him save himself if this is the Christ, the chosen one of God.ప్రజలు నిలువబడి చూచు చుండిరి; అధికారులునువీడు ఇతరులను రక్షించెను; వీడు దేవుడేర్పరచుకొనిన క్రీస్తు అయిన యెడల తన్నుతానురక్షించుకొనునని అపహసించిరి.

36 And the soldiers also made game of him, coming up offering him vinegar,అంతట సైనికులు ఆయనయొద్దకు వచ్చి ఆయనకు చిరకనిచ్చి

37 and saying, If *thou* be the king of the Jews, save thyself.నీవు యూదుల రాజువైతే నిన్ను నీవే రక్షించుకొనుమని ఆయనను అపహసించిరి.

38 And there was also an inscription [written] over him in Greek, and Roman, and Hebrew letters: This is the King of the Jews.ఇతడు యూదుల రాజని పైవిలాసముకూడ ఆయనకు పైగా వ్రాయబడెను.

39 Now one of the malefactors who had been hanged spoke insultingly to him, saying, Art not thou the Christ? save thyself and us.వ్రేలాడవేయబడిన ఆ నేరస్థులలో ఒకడు ఆయనను దూషించుచునీవు క్రీస్తువు గదా? నిన్ను నీవు రక్షించు కొనుము, మమ్మునుకూడ రక్షించుమని చెప్పెను.

40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost *thou* too not fear God, thou that art under the same judgment?అయితే రెండవవాడు వానిని గద్దించినీవు అదే శిక్షావిధిలో ఉన్నావు గనుక దేవునికి భయపడవా?

41 and *we* indeed justly, for we receive the just recompense of what we have done; but this [man] has done nothing amiss.మనకైతే యిది న్యాయమే; మనము చేసినవాటికి తగిన ఫలము పొందు చున్నాము గాని యీయన ఏ తప్పిదమును చేయలేదని చెప్పి

42 And he said to Jesus, Remember me, [Lord,] when thou comest in thy kingdom.ఆయనను చూచి యేసూ, నీవు నీ రాజ్యము లోనికి వచ్చునప్పుడు నన్ను జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనుమనెను.

43 And Jesus said to him, Verily I say to thee, To-day shalt thou be with me in paradise.అందు కాయన వానితోనేడు నీవు నాతోకూడ పర దైసులో ఉందువని నిశ్చయముగా నీతో చెప్పుచున్నా ననెను.

44 And it was about [the] sixth hour, and there came darkness over the whole land until [the] ninth hour.అప్పుడు రమారమి మధ్యాహ్నమాయెను. అది మొదలుకొని మూడు గంటలవరకు ఆ దేశమంతటిమీద చీకటి కమ్మెను;

45 And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple rent in the midst.సూర్యుడు అదృశ్యుడాయెను; గర్భా లయపు తెర నడిమికి చినిగెను.

46 And Jesus, having cried with a loud voice, said, Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit. And having said this, he expired.అప్పుడు యేసు గొప్ప శబ్దముతో కేకవేసి--తండ్రీ, నీ చేతికి నా ఆత్మను అప్పగించుకొనుచున్నాననెను. ఆయన యీలాగు చెప్పి ప్రాణము విడిచెను.

47 Now the centurion, seeing what took place, glorified God, saying, In very deed this man was just.శతాధిపతి జరిగినది చూచిఈ మనుష్యుడు నిజముగా నీతిమంతుడై యుండెనని చెప్పి దేవుని మహిమపరచెను.

48 And all the crowds who had come together to that sight, having seen the things that took place, returned, beating [their] breasts.చూచుటకై కూడివచ్చిన ప్రజలందరు జరిగిన కార్యములు చూచి, రొమ్ము కొట్టు కొనుచు తిరిగి వెళ్లిరి.

49 And all those who knew him stood afar off, the women also who had followed him from Galilee, beholding these things.ఆయనకు నెళవైనవారందరును, గలిలయనుండి ఆయనను వెంబ డించిన స్త్రీలును దూరముగా నిలుచుండి వీటిని చూచుచుండిరి.

50 And behold, a man named Joseph, who was a councillor, a good man and a justఅరిమతయియ అను యూదుల పట్టణపు సభ్యుడైన యోసేపు అను ఒకడుండెను.

51 (this [man] had not assented to their counsel and deed), of Arimathaea, a city of the Jews, who also waited, [himself also,] for the kingdom of Godఅతడు సజ్జనుడును నీతిమంతుడునై యుండి వారి ఆలోచనకును వారు చేసిన పనికిని సమ్మతింపక దేవుని రాజ్యముకొరకు కనిపెట్టు చుండినవాడు.

52 -- he having gone to Pilate begged the body of Jesus;అతడు పిలాతునొద్దకు వెళ్లి, యేసు దేహము (తనకిమ్మని) అడుగుకొని

53 and having taken it down, wrapped it in fine linen and placed him in a tomb hewn in the rock, where no one had ever been laid.దానిని క్రిందికి దించి, సన్నపు నారబట్టతో చుట్టి, తొలిచిన రాతి సమాధిలో ఉంచెను. అందులో ఎవడును అంతకు మునుపెప్పుడును ఉంచబడలేదు.

54 And it was preparation day, and [the] sabbath twilight was coming on.ఆ దినము సిద్ధపరచు దినము; విశ్రాంతి దినారంభము కావచ్చెను.

55 And women, who had come along with him out of Galilee, having followed, saw the sepulchre and how his body was placed.అప్పుడు గలిలయనుండి ఆయనతో కూడ వచ్చిన స్త్రీలు వెంట వెళ్లి ఆ సమాధిని, ఆయన దేహము ఏలాగుంచబడెనో చూచి

56 And having returned they prepared aromatic spices and ointments, and remained quiet on the sabbath, according to the commandment.తిరిగి వెళ్లి, సుగంధ ద్రవ్యములను పరిమళ తైలములను సిద్ధపరచి, ఆజ్ఞచొప్పున విశ్రాంతిదినమున తీరికగా ఉండిరి.
