మత్తయి సువార్త 26

1 యేసు ఈ మాటలన్నియు చెప్పి చాలించిన తరు వాత జరిగినదేమనగా ఆయన తన శిష్యులను చూచి

2 రెండు దినములైన పిమ్మట పస్కాపండుగ వచ్చుననియు, అప్పుడు మనుష్యకుమారుడు సిలువవేయబడుటకై అప్ప గింపబడుననియు మీకు తెలియునని చెప్పెను.

3 ఆ సమయ మున ప్రధానయాజకులును ప్రజల పెద్దలును కయప అను ప్రధానయాజకుని మందిరములోనికి కూడివచ్చి

4 యేసును మాయోపాయముచేత పట్టుకొని, చంపవలెనని యేకమై ఆలోచన చేసిరి.

5 అయితే ప్రజలలో అల్లరి కలుగకుండు నట్లుపండుగలో వద్దని చెప్పుకొనిరి.

6 యేసు బేతనియలో కుష్ఠరోగియైన సీమోను ఇంట నున్నప్పుడు,

7 ఒక స్త్రీ మిక్కిలి విలువగల అత్తరుబుడ్డి తీసికొని ఆయనయొద్దకు వచ్చి, ఆయన భోజనమునకు కూర్చుండగా దానిని ఆయన తలమీద పోసెను.

8 శిష్యులు చూచి కోపపడిఈ నష్టమెందుకు?

9 దీనిని గొప్ప వెలకు అమి్మ బీదల కియ్యవచ్చునే అనిరి.

10 యేసు ఆ సంగతి తెలిసి కొనిఈ స్త్రీ నా విషయమై యొక మంచి కార్యము చేసెను; ఈమెను మీరేల తొందరపెట్టుచున్నారు?

11 బీదలెల్లప్పుడు మీతోకూడ ఉన్నారు. గాని నేనెల్లప్పుడు మీతో కూడ ఉండను.

12 ఈమె యీ అత్తరు నా శరీరము మీద పోసి నా భూస్థాపన నిమిత్తము దీనిని చేసెను.

13 సర్వలోకమందు ఈ సువార్త ఎక్కడ ప్రకటింపబడునో, అక్కడ ఈమె చేసినదియు ఈమె జ్ఞాపకార్థముగా ప్రశంసింపబడునని మీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నా నని వారితో అనెను.

14 అప్పుడు పండ్రెండుమందిలో నొకడగు ఇస్కరియోతు యూదా, ప్రధానయాజకులయొద్దకు వెళ్లి

15 నేనాయ నను మీకప్పగించినయెడల నాకేమి ఇత్తురని వారినడిగెను. అందుకు వారు ముప్పది వెండి నాణములు తూచి వానికి ఇచ్చిరి.

16 వాడప్పటినుండి ఆయనను అప్పగించుటకు తగిన సమయము కనిపెట్టు చుండెను.

17 పులియని రొట్టెల పండుగలో మొదటి దినమందు, శిష్యులు యేసునొద్దకు వచ్చిపస్కాను భుజించుటకు మేము నీకొరకు ఎక్కడ సిద్ధపరచ గోరుచున్నావని అడి గిరి.

18 అందుకాయనమీరు పట్టణమందున్న ఫలాని మనుష్యునియొద్దకు వెళ్లినా కాలము సమీపమైయున్నది; నా శిష్యులతో కూడ నీ యింట పస్కాను ఆచరించెదనని బోధకుడు చెప్పుచున్నాడని అతనితో చె

19 యేసు తమ కాజ్ఞాపించిన ప్రకారము శిష్యులు చేసి పస్కాను సిద్ధపరచిరి.

20 సాయంకాలమైనప్పుడు ఆయన పండ్రెండుమంది శిష్యులతోకూడ భోజనమునకు కూర్చుం డెను.

21 వారు భోజనము చేయుచుండగా ఆయనమీలో ఒకడు నన్ను అప్పగించునని మీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పు చున్నాననెను.

22 అందుకు వారు బహు దుఃఖపడి ప్రతి వాడునుప్రభువా, నేనా? అని ఆయన నడుగగా

23 ఆయననాతోకూడ పాత్రలో చెయ్యి ముంచినవా డెవడో వాడే నన్ను అప్పగించువాడు.

24 మనుష్యకుమా రునిగూర్చి వ్రాయబడిన ప్రకారము ఆయన పోవు చున్నాడు గాని యెవనిచేత మనుష్యకుమారుడు అప్ప గింపబడుచున్నాడో ఆ మనుష్యునికి శ్రమ; ఆ మను ష్యుడు పుట్టియుండనియెడల వానికి మేలని చెప్పెను.

25 ఆయనను అప్పగించిన యూదాబోధకుడా, నేనా? అని అడుగగా ఆయననీవన్నట్టే అనెను.

26 వారు భోజనము చేయుచుండగా యేసు ఒక రొట్టె పట్టుకొని, దాని నాశీర్వదించి, విరిచి తన శిష్యులకిచ్చి మీరు తీసికొని తినుడి; ఇది నా శరీరమని చెప్పెను.

27 మరియు ఆయన గిన్నె పట్టుకొని కృతజ్ఞతాస్తుతులు చెల్లించి వారికిచ్చిదీనిలోనిది మీరందరు త్రాగుడి.

28 ఇది నా రక్తము, అనగా పాపక్షమాపణ నిమిత్తము అనేకుల కొరకు చిందింపబడుచున్న నిబంధన1 రక్తము.

29 నా తండ్రి రాజ్యములో మీతోకూడ నేను ఈ ద్రాక్షారసము క్రొత్త దిగా త్రాగు దినమువరకు, ఇకను దాని త్రాగనని మీతో చెప్పుచున్నాననెను.

30 అంతట వారు కీర్తన పాడి ఒలీవల కొండకు వెళ్లిరి.

31 అప్పుడు యేసు వారిని చూచిఈ రాత్రి మీరందరు నా విషయమై అభ్యంతరపడెదరు, ఏలయనగాగొఱ్ఱల కాపరిని కొట్టుదును, మందలోని గొఱ్ఱలు చెదరిపోవును అని వ్రాయబడి యున్నది గదా.

32 నేను లేచిన తరువాత మీకంటె ముందుగా గలిలయకు వెళ్లెద ననెను.

33 అందుకు పేతురునీ విషయమై అందరు అభ్యంతర పడినను నేను ఎప్పుడును అభ్యంతరపడనని ఆయనతో చెప్పగా

34 యేసు అతని చూచిఈ రాత్రి కోడి కూయక మునుపే నీవు నన్ను ఎరుగనని ముమ్మారు చెప్పెదవని నీతో నిశ్చయముగా చెప్పుచున్నాననెను.

35 పేతురాయనను చూచినేను నీతోకూడ చావవలసివచ్చినను, నిన్ను ఎరుగ నని చెప్పననెను; అదేప్రకారము శిష్యులందరు అనిరి.

36 అంతట యేసు వారితోకూడ గెత్సేమనే అనబడిన చోటికి వచ్చినేను అక్కడికి వెళ్లి ప్రార్థనచేసి వచ్చు వరకు మీరిక్కడ కూర్చుండుడని శిష్యులతో చెప్పి

37 పేతురును జెబెదయి యిద్దరు కుమారులను వెంటబెట్టుకొని పోయి, దుఃఖపడుటకును చింతాక్రాంతుడగుటకును మొదలు పెట్టెను.

38 అప్పుడు యేసుమరణమగు నంతగా నా ప్రాణము బహు దుఃఖములో మునిగియున్నది; మీరు ఇక్కడ నిలిచి, నాతోకూడ మెలకువగా నుండు డని వారితో చెప్పి

39 కొంత దూరము వెళ్లి, సాగిలపడి నా తండ్రీ, సాధ్యమైతే ఈ గిన్నె నాయొద్దనుండి తొలగి పోనిమ్ము, అయినను నా యిష్టప్రకారము కాదు నీ చిత్తప్రకారమే కానిమ్మని ప్రార్థించెను.

40 ఆయన మరల శిష్యులయొద్దకు వచ్చి, వారు నిద్రించుట చూచిఒక గడియయైనను నాతోకూడ మేల్కొనియుండలేరా?

41 మీరు శోధనలో ప్రవేశించకుండునట్లు మెలకువగా ఉండి ప్రార్థనచేయుడి; ఆత్మ సిద్ధమే గాని శరీరము బలహీన మని పేతురుతో చెప్పి

42 మరల రెండవమారు వెళ్లినా తండ్రీ, నేను దీనిని త్రాగితేనే గాని యిది నాయొద్దనుండి తొలగి పోవుట సాధ్యముకానియెడల, నీ చిత్తమే సిద్ధించు గాక అని ప్రార్థించి

43 తిరిగి వచ్చి, వారు మరల నిద్రిం చుట చూచెను; ఏలయనగా వారి కన్నులు భారముగా ఉండెను.

44 ఆయన వారిని మరల విడిచి వెళ్లి, ఆ మాటలే చెప్పుచు మూడవ మారు ప్రార్థనచేసెను.

45 అప్పుడాయన తన శిష్యులయొద్దకు వచ్చిఇక నిద్రపోయి అలసట తీర్చు కొనుడి; ఇదిగో ఆ గడియవచ్చి యున్నది; మనుష్యకుమా రుడు పాపులచేతికి అప్పగింపబడుచున్నాడు;

46 లెండి వెళ్లుదము; ఇదిగో నన్ను అప్పగించువాడు సమీపించి యున్నాడని వారితో చెప్పెను.

47 ఆయన ఇంకను మాటలాడుచుండగా పండ్రెండు మందిలో ఒకడగు యూదా వచ్చెను. వానితోకూడ బహు జనసమూహము కత్తులు గుదియలు పట్టుకొని ప్రధాన యాజకులయొద్దనుండియు ప్రజల పెద్దలయొద్ద నుండియు వచ్చెను.

48 ఆయనను అప్పగించువాడునేనెవ రిని ముద్దుపెట్టుకొందునో ఆయనే యేసు; ఆయనను పట్టుకొనుడని వారికి గురుతు చెప్పి

49 వెంటనే యేసు నొద్దకు వచ్చిబోధకుడా, నీకు శుభమని చెప్పి ఆయనను ముద్దు పెట్టుకొనెను.

50 యేసుచెలికాడా, నీవు చేయవచ్చి నది చేయుమని అతనితో చెప్పగా వారు దగ్గరకు వచ్చి ఆయనమీదపడి ఆయనను పట్టుకొనిరి.

51 ఇదిగో యేసుతో కూడ ఉన్నవారిలో ఒకడు చెయ్యి చాచి, కత్తి దూసి ప్రధానయాజకుని దాసుని కొట్టి, వాని చెవి తెగనరికెను.

52 యేసునీ కత్తి వరలో తిరిగి పెట్టుము; కత్తి పట్టుకొను వారందరు కత్తిచేతనే నశింతురు.

53 ఈ సమయమున నేను నా తండ్రిని వేడుకొనలేననియు, వేడుకొనినయెడల ఆయన పండ్రెండు సేనా వ్యూహములకంటె1 ఎక్కువ మంది దూతలను ఇప్పుడే నాకు పంపడనియు నీవనుకొను చున్నావా?

54 నేను వేడుకొనిన యెడలఈలాగు జరుగ వలెనను లేఖనము ఏలాగు నెరవేరునని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

55 ఆ గడియలోనే యేసు జనసమూహములను చూచిబంది పోటుదొంగమీదికి వచ్చినట్టు కత్తులతోను గుదియలతోను నన్ను పట్టుకొనవచ్చితిరా? నేను అనుదినము దేవాలయ ములో కూర్చుండి బోధించుచున్నప్పుడు మీరు నన్ను పట్టుకొనలేదు.

56 అయితే ప్రవక్తల లేఖనములు నెరవేరు నట్లు ఇదంతయు జరిగెనని చెప్పెను. అప్పుడు శిష్యు లందరు ఆయనను విడిచి పారిపోయిరి.

57 యేసును పట్టుకొనినవారు ప్రధానయాజకుడైన కయప యొద్దకు ఆయనను తీసికొనిపోగా, అక్కడ శాస్త్రులును పెద్దలును కూడియుండిరి.

58 పేతురు ప్రధానయాజకుని యింటిముంగిటివరకు, ఆయనను దూరమునుండి వెంబడించి లోపలికి పోయిదీని అంత మేమవునో చూడవలెనని బంట్రౌతులతోకూడ కూర్చుండెను.

59 ప్రధానయాజకు లును, మహా సభవారందరును, యేసును చంపవలెనని ఆయనకు విరోధముగా అబద్ధసాక్ష్యము వెదకుచుండిరి కాని

60 అబద్ధసాక్షులనేకులు వచ్చినను సాక్ష్యమేమియు దొరకలేదు.

61 తుదకు ఇద్దరు మనుష్యులు వచ్చివీడు దేవాలయమును పడగొట్టి, మూడు దినములలో దానిని కట్ట గలనని చెప్పెననిరి.

62 ప్రధానయాజకుడు లేచినీవు ఉత్తర మేమియు చెప్పవా? వీరు నీమీద పలుకుచున్న సాక్ష్య మేమని అడుగగా యేసు ఊరకుండెను.

63 అందుకు ప్రధాన యాజకుడు ఆయనను చూచినీవు దేవుని కుమారుడవైన క్రీస్తువైతే ఆ మాట మాతో చెప్పుమని జీవముగల దేవుని తోడని నీకు ఆనబెట్టుచున్నాననెను. అందుకు యేసునీవన

64 ఇది మొదలుకొని మనుష్యకుమారుడు సర్వ శక్తుని కుడిపార్శ్వమున కూర్చుండుటయు, ఆకాశ మేఘా రూఢుడై వచ్చుటయు మీరు చూతురని చెప్పగా

65 ప్రధానయాజకుడు తన వస్త్రము చింపుకొని--వీడు దేవ దూషణ చేసెను; మనకిక సాక్షులతో పని ఏమి? ఇదిగో ఈ దూషణ మీరిప్పుడు విన్నారు;

66 మీకేమి తోచు చున్నదని అడిగెను. అందుకు వారువీడు మరణమునకు పాత్రుడనిరి.

67 అప్పుడు వారు ఆయన ముఖముమీద ఉమి్మవేసి, ఆయనను గుద్దిరి;

68 కొందరు ఆయనను అర చేతులతో కొట్టిక్రీస్తూ, నిన్ను కొట్టినవాడెవడో ప్రవచింపు మనిరి.

69 పేతురు వెలుపటిముంగిట కూర్చుండియుండగా ఒక చిన్నది అతనియొద్దకు వచ్చినీవును గలిలయుడగు యేసుతో కూడ ఉంటివి గదా అనెను.

70 అందుకతడునేనుండలేదు; నీవు చెప్పుసంగతి నాకు తెలియదని అందరి యెదుట అనెను.

71 అతడు నడవలోనికి వెళ్లిన తరువాత మరి యొక చిన్నది అతనిని చూచివీడును నజరేయుడగు యేసుతోకూడ ఉండెనని అక్కడి వారితో చెప్పగా

72 అతడు ఒట్టుపెట్టుకొనినేనుండలేదు; ఆ మనుష్యుని నేనెరుగనని మరల చెప్పెను.

73 కొంతసేపైన తరువాత అక్కడ నిలిచియున్నవారు పేతురునొద్దకు వచ్చినిజమే, నీవును వారిలో ఒకడవే; నీ పలుకు నిన్నుగూర్చి సాక్ష్య మిచ్చుచున్నదని అతనితో చెప్పిరి.

74 అందుకు అతడు ఆ మనుష్యుని నేనెరుగనని చెప్పి శపించుకొనుటకును ఒట్టుపెట్టుకొనుటకును మొదలు పెట్టెను. వెంటనే కోడి కూసెను

75 కనుకకోడి కూయక మునుపు నీవు నన్నెరుగ నని ముమ్మారు చెప్పెదవని యేసు తనతో అనిన మాట పేతురు జ్ఞాపకము తెచ్చుకొని వెలుపలికి పోయి సంతాప పడి యేడ్చెను.

1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples,

2 Ye know that after two days is the feast of the passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

3 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas,

4 And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.

5 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.

6 Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,

7 There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.

8 But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying, To what purpose is this waste?

9 For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.

10 When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me.

11 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

12 For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.

13 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

15 And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

16 And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

17 Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

18 And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

19 And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

20 Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

21 And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

22 And they were exceeding sorrowful, and began every one of them to say unto him, Lord, is it I?

23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.

24 The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.

25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is it I? He said unto him, Thou hast said.

26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.

27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.

30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives.

31 Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.

34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

42 He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

43 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

44 And he left them, and went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words.

45 Then cometh he to his disciples, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

46 Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.

47 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.

48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.

49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.

50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.

51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear.

52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?

55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

57 And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

58 But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest’s palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.

59 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;

60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,

61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?

63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.

66 What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,

68 Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

69 Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.

70 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.

71 And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.

72 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.

73 And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.

74 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.
