அப்பொழுது மெனாகேம் திப்சா பட்டணத்தையும், அதிலுள்ள யாவையும், திர்சாதொடங்கி அதின் எல்லைகளையும் முறிய அடித்தான்; அவர்கள் தனக்கு வாசலைத் திறக்கவில்லை என்று அவர்களை வெட்டி, அவர்களுடைய கர்ப்பவதிகளையெல்லாம் கீறிப்போட்டான்.

இந்தப் பணத்தை அசீரியாவின் ராஜாவிற்குக் கொடுக்கும்படி, மெனாகேம் இஸ்ரவேலில் பலத்த ஐசுவரியவான்களிடத்தில் ஆள் ஒன்றிற்கு ஐம்பது வெள்ளிச் சேக்கல் சுமத்தினான்; அப்படியே அசீரியாவின் ராஜா தேசத்திலே நிற்காமல் திரும்பிப்போனான்.

அனைத்து செல்வர்களிடமும் வல்லமை உள்ளவர்களிடமும் வரி வசூல் செய்து மெனாகேம் செல்வத்தைப் பெருக்கினான். அவன் ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் 50 வெள்ளி சேக்கல் வரி விதித்தான். பிறகு அதனை இவன் அசீரியாவின் அரசனுக்குக் கொடுத்து வந்தான். எனவே, அசீரியாவின் அரசன் இஸ்ரவேலில் தங்காமல் விலகிப்போனான்.
