சவுலின் குமரனாகிய மேவிபோசேத்தும் ராஜாவுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவந்தான்; ராஜா போனநாள்முதல், அவன் சமாதானத்தோடே திரும்பிவருகிற நாள்மட்டும், அவன் தன் கால்களைச் சுத்தம்பண்ணவுமில்லை, தன் தாடியைச் சவரம்பண்ணவுமில்லை; தன் வஸ்திரங்களை வெளுக்கவுமில்லை.

சவுலின் மகனான மேவிபோசேத்தும் ராஜாவுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுவந்தான்; ராஜா போன நாள்முதல் அவன் சமாதானத்தோடு திரும்பிவருகிற நாள்வரை அவன் தன்னுடைய கால்களைச் சுத்தம் செய்யவும் இல்லை, தன்னுடைய தாடியைச் சவரம் செய்யவும் இல்லை; தன்னுடைய ஆடைகளை வெளுக்கவுமில்லை இல்லை.

தாவீது அரசனைக் காண சவுலின் பேரனாகிய மேவிபோசேத் வந்தான். மேவிபோசேத் அரசன் எருசலேமிலிருந்து போனதிலிருந்து அமைதியோடு திரும்பி வரும் வரைக்கும் அவனது கால்களைச் சுத்தம் பண்ணவில்லை. தாடியை சவரம் செய்து கொள்ளவில்லை. அவனது ஆடைகளை வெளுக்கவுமில்லை.
