Psalm 124
1 যদি প্রভু আমাদের দিকে না থাকতেন তাহলে কি হতে পারত? হে ই্রাযেল, আমাকে উত্তর দাও|
2 যখন লোকে আমাদের আক্রমণ করেছিলো, তখন যদি প্রভু আমাদের দিকে না থাকতেন তাহলে কি অবস্থা হত?
3 যখন আমাদের শত্রুরা আমাদের প্রতি ক্রুদ্ধ হয়েছিলো, তখন হয়তো তারা আমাদের জ্য়ান্ত গিলে ফেলত|
4 আমাদের শত্রুরা আমাদের বন্যার মত ধুয়ে দিয়ে য়েতো, নদীর মত ডুবিয়ে দিয়ে য়েতো|
5 ঐ গর্বিত লোকরা মুখের ওপর ছাড়িযে যাওয়া জলের মত হত এবং আমাদের ডুবিয়ে দিত|
6 প্রভুর প্রশংসা কর! প্রভু আমাদের শত্রুদের হাতে, আমাদের ধরা পড়তে ও হত হতে দেন নি|
7 আমরা সেই পাখির মত, য়ে জালে জড়িয়ে পড়েও পালিয়ে গিয়েছিলো| জাল ছিঁড়ে গেল এবং আমরা পালিয়ে গেলাম|
8 প্রভুর কাছ থেকে আমাদের সাহায্য আসে| প্রভুই স্বর্গ ও পৃথিবী সৃষ্টি করেছেন|

2 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;
3 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
4 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
5 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
6 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
7 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
8 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
9 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
