கில்காலில் பெலிஸ்தர் எனக்கு விரோதமாய் வந்துவிடுவார்கள் என்றும், நான் இன்னும் கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்தை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணவில்லை என்றும், எண்ணித் துணிந்து, சர்வாங்க தகனபலியைச் செலுத்தினேன் என்றான்.

நான், ‘அவர்கள் வந்து கில்காலில் என்னைத் தாக்குவார்கள்’ என எண்ணினேன். நான் இதுவரை கர்த்தரிடம் உதவி கேட்கவில்லை! எனவே தகனபலி செலுத்த என்னை நானே கட்டாயப்படுத்திக் கொண்டேன்” என்றான்.

அப்பொழுது ‘பெலிஸ்தியர் எனக்கு எதிராகக் கில்காலுக்கு இறங்கி வருவர்; நானோ இன்னும் ஆண்டவரின் தயவை நாடவில்லை’ என்று உணர்ந்ததால், நான் எரிபலி செலுத்த வேண்டிய கட்டாயத்துக்கு உள்ளானேன்.”⒫

Kilkaalil pelisthar enakku virothamaay vanthuviduvaarkal entum, naan innum karththarutaiya samukaththai Nnokki vinnnappampannnavillai entum, ennnnith thunninthu, sarvaanga thakanapaliyaich seluththinaen entan.
