பட்டணத்துச் சம்பிரதியானவன் ஜனங்களை அமர்த்தி எபேசியரே, எபேசியருடைய பட்டணம் மகா தேவியாகிய தியானாளுக்கும் வானத்திலிருந்து விழுந்த சிலைக்கும் கோவிற்பரிசாரகியாயிருக்கிறதை அறியாதவன் உண்டோ?

பட்டணத்து அவைத்தலைவன் மக்களை அமைதிப்படுத்தி: எபேசியர்களே, இந்த பட்டணம் மகா தேவியாகிய தியானாளின் கோவிலும் வானத்திலிருந்து விழுந்த சிலையையும் எபேசியரது நகரின் பாதுகாப்பில் இருக்கிறதென்று அறியாதவன் உண்டோ?

நகர அலுவலன் மக்களை அமைதியாக இருக்குமாறு வேண்டினான். அவன், “எபேசுவின் மக்களே! ஆர்தமிஸ் தேவியின் தேவாலயத்தையும் பரலோகத்திலிருந்து விழுந்த அவளது பரிசுத்தப் பாறையையும் பெற்ற நகரம் எபேசு என்பதை எல்லா மக்களும் அறிவர்.
