அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் அவனை நோக்கி: நான் உங்கள் சந்ததிக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று ஆபிரகாமுக்கும் ஈசாக்குக்கும் யாக்கோபுக்கும் ஆணையிட்ட தேசம் இதுதான், இதை உன் கண் காணும்படி செய்தேன்; ஆனாலும் அவ்விடத்திற்குக் கடந்துபோவதில்லை என்றார்.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் அவனை நோக்கி: நான் உங்களுடைய சந்ததிக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று ஆபிரகாமுக்கும், ஈசாக்குக்கும், யாக்கோபுக்கும் வாக்களித்த தேசம் இதுதான், இதை உன்னுடைய கண் காணும்படி செய்தேன்; ஆனாலும் நீ அந்த இடத்திற்குக் கடந்துபோவதில்லை என்றார்.

கர்த்தர் மோசேயிடம், “நான் ஆபிரகாம், ஈசாக்கு, யாக்கோபு ஆகியோருக்கு வாக்களித்த நாடு இதுதான். நான் அவர்களிடம் சொன்னேன் ‘நான் இந்த நாட்டை உங்கள் சந்ததிகளுக்குத் தருவேன். அந்த நாட்டை நீ பார்க்கும்படி செய்வேன். ஆனால் அங்கே உன்னால் போகமுடியாது’” என்று கூறினார்.
