Ecclesiastes 12 in Tamil

1 நீ உன் வாலிபப்பிராயத்திலே உன் சிருஷ்டிகரை நினை; தீங்குநாட்கள் வராததற்குமுன்னும், எனக்குப் பிரியமானவைகளல்ல என்று நீ சொல்லும் வருஷங்கள் சேராததற்குமுன்னும், Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

2 சூரியனும், வெளிச்சமும், சந்திரனும், நட்சத்திரங்களும், அந்தகாரப்படாததற்குமுன்னும், While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:

3 மழைக்குப்பின் மேகங்கள் திரும்பத்திரும்ப வராததற்குமுன்னும், வீட்டுக்காவலாளிகள் தள்ளாடி பெலசாலிகள் கூனிப்போய், ஏந்திரம் அரைக்கிறவர்கள் கொஞ்சமானதினால் ஓய்ந்து, பலகணிவழியாய்ப் பார்க்கிறவர்கள் இருண்டுபோகிறதற்குமுன்னும், In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,

4 ஏந்திர சத்தம் தாழ்ந்ததினால் தெருவாசலின் கதவுகள் அடைபட்டு, குருவியின் சத்தத்துக்கும் எழுந்திருக்கவேண்டியதாகி, கீதவாத்தியக் கன்னிகைகளெல்லாம் அடங்கிப்போகாததற்குமுன்னும், And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;

5 மேட்டுக்காக அச்சமுண்டாகி, வழியிலே பயங்கள் தோன்றி, வாதுமைமரம் பூப்பூத்து, வெட்டுக்கிளியும் பாரமாகி, பசித்தீபனமும் அற்றுப்போகாததற்குமுன்னும், மனுஷன் தன் நித்திய வீட்டுக்குப் போகிறதினாலே, துக்கங்கொண்டாடுகிறவர்கள் வீதியிலே திரியாததற்குமுன்னும், Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:

6 வெள்ளிக்கயிறு கட்டுவிட்டு, பொற்கிண்ணி நசுங்கி, ஊற்றின் அருகே சால் உடைந்து, துரவண்டையில் உருளை நொறுங்கி, Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

7 இவ்விதமாய் மண்ணானது தான் முன்னிருந்த பூமிக்குத் திரும்பி, ஆவி தன்னைத் தந்த தேவனிடத்திற்கு மறுபடியும் போகாததற்குமுன்னும், அவரை உன் வாலிபப்பிராயத்திலே நினை. Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

8 மாயை, மாயை, எல்லாம் மாயை என்று பிரசங்கி சொல்லுகிறான். Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

9 மேலும், பிரசங்கி ஞானவானாயிருந்தபடியால், அவன் ஜனத்துக்கு அறிவைப்போதித்து, கவனமாய்க் கேட்டாராய்ந்து அநேகம் நீதிமொழிகளைச் சேர்த்து எழுதினான். And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

10 இதமான வார்த்தைகளைக் கண்டுபிடிக்க பிரசங்கி வகைதேடினான்; எழுதின வாக்கியங்கள் செவ்வையும் சத்தியமுமானவைகள். The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.

11 ஞானிகளின் வாக்கியங்கள் தாற்றுக்கோல்கள்போலவும் சங்கத்தலைவர்களால் அறையப்பட்ட ஆணிகள்போலவும் இருக்கிறது; அவைகள் ஒரே மேய்ப்பனால் அளிக்கப்பட்டது. The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

12 என் மகனே! இவைகளினாலே புத்தியடைவாயாக; அநேகம் புஸ்தகங்களை உண்டுபண்ணுகிறதற்கு முடிவில்லை; அதிகபடிப்பு உடலுக்கு இளைப்பு. And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

13 காரியத்தின் கடைத்தொகையை கேட்போமாக, தேவனுக்குப் பயந்து, அவர் கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொள்; எல்லா மனுஷர்மேலும் விழுந்த கடமை இதுவே. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

14 ஒவ்வொரு கிரியையையும், அந்தரங்கமான ஒவ்வொரு காரியத்தையும் நன்மையானாலும் தீமையானாலும், தேவன் நியாயத்திலே கொண்டுவருவார். For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

1 Nee un vaalipappiraayaththilae un sirushtikarai ninai; theengunaatkal varaathatharkumunnum, enakkup piriyamaanavaikalalla entu nee sollum varushangal seraathatharkumunnum, Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

2 Sooriyanum, velichchamum, santhiranum, natchaththirangalum, anthakaarappadaathatharkumunnum, While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:

3 Malaikkuppin maekangal thirumpaththirumpa varaathatharkumunnum, veettukkaavalaalikal thallaati pelasaalikal koonippoy, aenthiram araikkiravarkal konjamaanathinaal oynthu, palakannivaliyaayp paarkkiravarkal irunndupokiratharkumunnum, In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,

4 Aenthira saththam thaalnthathinaal theruvaasalin kathavukal ataipattu, kuruviyin saththaththukkum elunthirukkavaenntiyathaaki, geethavaaththiyak kannikaikalellaam adangippokaathatharkumunnum, And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;

5 Maettukkaaka achchamunndaaki, valiyilae payangal thonti, vaathumaimaram pooppooththu, vettukkiliyum paaramaaki, pasiththeepanamum attaுppokaathatharkumunnum, manushan than niththiya veettukkup pokirathinaalae, thukkangaொnndaadukiravarkal veethiyilae thiriyaathatharkumunnum, Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:

6 Vellikkayiraு kattuvittu, porkinnnni nasungi, oottin arukae saal utainthu, thuravanntaiyil urulai noraுngi, Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.

7 Ivvithamaay mannnnaanathu thaan munniruntha poomikkuth thirumpi, aavi thannaith thantha thaevanidaththirku maraுpatiyum pokaathatharkumunnum, avarai un vaalipappiraayaththilae ninai. Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

8 Maayai, maayai, ellaam maayai entu pirasangi sollukiraan. Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.

9 Maelum, pirasangi njaanavaanaayirunthapatiyaal, avan janaththukku arivaippothiththu, kavanamaayk kaettaraaynthu anaekam neethimolikalaich serththu eluthinaan. And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.

10 Ithamaana vaarththaikalaik kanndupitikka pirasangi vakaithaetinaan; eluthina vaakkiyangal sevvaiyum saththiyamumaanavaikal. The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.

11 Njaanikalin vaakkiyangal thaattaுkkolkalpolavum sangaththalaivarkalaal araiyappatta aannikalpolavum irukkirathu; avaikal orae maeyppanaal alikkappattathu. The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.

12 En makanae! Ivaikalinaalae puththiyataivaayaaka; anaekam pusthakangalai unndupannnukiratharku mutivillai; athikapatippu udalukku ilaippu. And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

13 Kaariyaththin kataiththokaiyai kaetpomaaka, thaevanukkup payanthu, avar karpanaikalaik kaikkol; ellaa manusharmaelum viluntha kadamai ithuvae. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

14 Ovvoru kiriyaiyaiyum, antharangamaana ovvoru kaariyaththaiyum nanmaiyaanaalum theemaiyaanaalum, Dhevan niyaayaththilae konnduvaruvaar. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
