மனுஷன் படும் எல்லாப் பிரயாசமும், பயன்படும் எல்லாக் கிரியையும், அயலானுடைய பொறாமைக்கு ஏதுவாயிருக்கிறதை நான் கண்டேன்; இதுவும் மாயை, மனதுக்கு சஞ்சலமுமாயிருக்கிறது.

பிறகு நான் “ஏன் ஜனங்கள் இவ்வளவு கடினமாக வேலை செய்கிறார்கள்?” என்று நினைத்தேன். ஜனங்கள் வெற்றிபெறவும் மற்றவர்களை விடச் சிறப்புபெறவும் முயற்சி செய்வதை நான் பார்த்தேன். ஏனென்றால் ஜனங்கள் அனைவரும் பொறாமை உடையவர்கள். அவர்கள் தம்மைவிட மற்றவர் அதிகம் பெறுவதை விரும்பமாட்டார்கள். இது அர்த்தமற்றது. இது காற்றைப் பிடிக்க முயற்சி செய்வதைப்போன்றது என எண்ணினேன்.
