Exodus 1 in Tamil

1 எகிப்துக்குப் போன இஸ்ரவேலுடைய குமாரரின் நாமங்களாவன: ரூபன், சிமியோன், லேவி, யூதா, Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob.

2 இசக்கார், செபுலோன், பென்யமீன், Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,

3 தாண், நப்தலி, காத், ஆசேர் என்பவைகளே. Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,

4 இவர்கள் யாக்கோபுடனே தங்கள் தங்கள் குடும்பத்தோடுங் கூடப்போனார்கள். Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

5 யோசேப்போ அதற்கு முன்னமே எகிப்தில் போயிருந்தான். யாக்கோபின் கர்ப்பப் பிறப்பாகிய யாவரும் எழுபது பேர். And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already.

6 யோசேப்பும் அவனுடைய சகோதரர் யாவரும், அந்தத் தலைமுறையார் எல்லாரும் மரணமடைந்தார்கள். And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.

7 இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் மிகுதியும் பலுகி, ஏராளமாய்ப் பெருகிப் பலத்திருந்தார்கள்; தேசம் அவர்களால் நிறைந்தது. And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.

8 யோசேப்பை அறியாத புதிய ராஜன் ஒருவன் எகிப்தில் தோன்றினான். Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.

9 அவன் தன் ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: இதோ, இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரராகிய ஜனங்கள் நம்மிலும் ஏராளமானவர்களும், பலத்தவர்களுமாய் இருக்கிறார்கள். And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:

10 அவர்கள் பெருகாதபடிக்கும், ஒரு யுத்தம் உண்டானால், அவர்களும் நம்முடைய பகைஞரோடே கூடி, நமக்கு விரோதமாக யுத்தம்பண்ணி, தேசத்தைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப் போகாதபடிக்கும், நாம் அவர்களைக் குறித்து ஒரு உபாயம் பண்ணவேண்டும் என்றான். Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.

11 அப்படியே அவர்களைச் சுமைசுமக்கிற வேலையினால் ஒடுக்கும்படிக்கு, அவர்கள்மேல் விசாரணைக்காரரை வைத்தார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் பார்வோனுக்காகப் பித்தோம், ராமசேஸ் என்னும் பண்டசாலைப் பட்டணங்களைக் கட்டினார்கள். Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.

12 ஆனாலும் அவர்களை எவ்வளவு ஒடுக்கினார்களோ அவ்வளவாய் அவர்கள் பலுகிப் பெருகினார்கள். ஆகையால் அவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரைக்குறித்து எரிச்சல் அடைந்தார்கள். But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.

13 எகிப்தியர் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரைக் கொடுமையாய் வேலை வாங்கினார்கள். And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigor:

14 சாந்தும் செங்கலுமாகிய இவைகளைச் செய்யும் வேலையினாலும், வயலில் செய்யும் சகலவித வேலையினாலும், அவர்களுக்கு அவர்கள் ஜீவனையும் கசப்பாக்கினார்கள்; அவர்களைக்கொண்டு செய்வித்த மற்ற எல்லா வேலைகளிலும், அவர்களைக் கொடுமையாய் நடத்தினார்கள். And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigor.

15 அதுவுமன்றி, எகிப்தின் ராஜா, சிப்பிராள் பூவாள் என்னும் பேருடைய எபிரெய மருத்துவச்சிகளோடே பேசி: And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:

16 நீங்கள் எபிரெய ஸ்திரீகளுக்கு மருத்துவம் செய்யும்போது, அவர்கள் மணையின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கையில், பார்த்து, ஆண்பிள்ளையானால் கொன்று போடுங்கள், பெண்பிள்ளையானால் உயிரோடிருக்கட்டும் என்றான். And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.

17 மருத்துவச்சிகளோ, தேவனுக்குப் பயந்ததினால், எகிப்தின் ராஜா தங்களுக்கு இட்ட கட்டளைப்படி செய்யாமல், ஆண்பிள்ளைகளையும் உயிரோடே காப்பாற்றினார்கள். But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.

18 அதினால் எகிப்தின் ராஜா மருத்துவச்சிகளை அழைப்பித்து: நீங்கள் ஆண்பிள்ளைகளை உயிரோடே காப்பாற்றுகிற காரியம் என்ன என்று கேட்டான். And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?

19 அதற்கு மருத்துவச்சிகள் பார்வோனை நோக்கி: எபிரெய ஸ்திரீகள் எகிப்திய ஸ்திரீகளைப்போல் அல்ல, அவர்கள் நல்ல பலமுள்ளவர்கள்; மருத்துவச்சி அவர்களிடத்துக்குப் போகுமுன்னமே அவர்கள் பிரசவித்தாகும் என்றார்கள். And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.

20 இதினிமித்தம் தேவன் மருத்துவச்சிகளுக்கு நன்மை செய்தார். ஜனங்கள் பெருகி மிகுதியும் பலத்துப் போனார்கள். Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.

21 மருத்துவச்சிகள் தேவனுக்குப் பயந்ததினால், அவர்களுடைய குடும்பங்கள் தழைக்கும்படி செய்தார். And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.

22 அப்பொழுது பார்வோன், பிறக்கும் ஆண்பிள்ளைகளையெல்லாம் நதியிலே போட்டுவிடவும், பெண்பிள்ளைகளையெல்லாம் உயிரோடே வைக்கவும் தன் ஜனங்கள் எல்லோருக்கும் கட்டளையிட்டான். And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.

1 Ekipthukkup pona isravaelutaiya kumaararin naamangalaavana: roopan, simiyon, laevi, yoothaa, Now these are the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob.

2 Isakkaar, sepulon, penyameen, Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,

3 Thaann, napthali, kaath, aaser enpavaikalae. Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,

4 Ivarkal yaakkopudanae thangal thangal kudumpaththodung koodapponaarkal. Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.

5 Yoseppo atharku munnamae ekipthil poyirunthaan. Yaakkopin karppap pirappaakiya yaavarum elupathu paer. And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt already.

6 Yoseppum avanutaiya sakotharar yaavarum, anthath thalaimuraiyaar ellaarum maranamatainthaarkal. And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.

7 Israel puththirar mikuthiyum paluki, aeraalamaayp perukip palaththirunthaarkal; thaesam avarkalaal nirainthathu. And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.

8 Yoseppai ariyaatha puthiya raajan oruvan ekipthil thontinaan. Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.

9 Avan than janangalai Nnokki: itho, Israel puththiraraakiya janangal nammilum aeraalamaanavarkalum, palaththavarkalumaay irukkiraarkal. And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:

10 Avarkal perukaathapatikkum, oru yuththam unndaanaal, avarkalum nammutaiya pakainjarotae kooti, namakku virothamaaka yuththampannnni, thaesaththaivittup purappattup pokaathapatikkum, naam avarkalaik kuriththu oru upaayam pannnavaenndum entan. Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.

11 Appatiyae avarkalaich sumaisumakkira vaelaiyinaal odukkumpatikku, avarkalmael visaarannaikkaararai vaiththaarkal; appoluthu avarkal paarvonukkaakap piththom, raamases ennum panndasaalaip pattanangalaik kattinaarkal. Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.

12 Aanaalum avarkalai evvalavu odukkinaarkalo avvalavaay avarkal palukip perukinaarkal. Aakaiyaal avarkal Israel puththiraraikkuriththu erichchal atainthaarkal. But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.

13 Ekipthiyar Israel puththiraraik kodumaiyaay vaelai vaanginaarkal. And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigor:

14 Saanthum sengalumaakiya ivaikalaich seyyum vaelaiyinaalum, vayalil seyyum sakalavitha vaelaiyinaalum, avarkalukku avarkal jeevanaiyum kasappaakkinaarkal; avarkalaikkonndu seyviththa matta ellaa vaelaikalilum, avarkalaik kodumaiyaay nadaththinaarkal. And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in mortar, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigor.

15 Athuvumanti, ekipthin raajaa, sippiraal poovaal ennum paerutaiya epireya maruththuvachchikalotae paesi: And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:

16 Neengal epireya sthireekalukku maruththuvam seyyumpothu, avarkal mannaiyinmael utkaarnthirukkaiyil, paarththu, aannpillaiyaanaal kontu podungal, pennpillaiyaanaal uyirotirukkattum entan. And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.

17 Maruththuvachchikalo, thaevanukkup payanthathinaal, ekipthin raajaa thangalukku itta kattalaippati seyyaamal, aannpillaikalaiyum uyirotae kaappaattinaarkal. But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.

18 Athinaal ekipthin raajaa maruththuvachchikalai alaippiththu: neengal aannpillaikalai uyirotae kaappaattaுkira kaariyam enna entu kaettan. And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?

19 Atharku maruththuvachchikal paarvonai Nnokki: epireya sthireekal ekipthiya sthireekalaippol alla, avarkal nalla palamullavarkal; maruththuvachchi avarkalidaththukkup pokumunnamae avarkal pirasaviththaakum entarkal. And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.

20 Ithinimiththam Dhevan maruththuvachchikalukku nanmai seythaar. Janangal peruki mikuthiyum palaththup ponaarkal. Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.

21 Maruththuvachchikal thaevanukkup payanthathinaal, avarkalutaiya kudumpangal thalaikkumpati seythaar. And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.

22 Appoluthu paarvon, pirakkum aannpillaikalaiyellaam nathiyilae pottuvidavum, pennpillaikalaiyellaam uyirotae vaikkavum than janangal ellorukkum kattalaiyittan. And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.
