ஒருவேளை ஐம்பது நீதிமான்களுக்கு ஐந்துபேர் குறைந்திருப்பார்கள்; அந்த ஐந்துபேர் நிமித்தம் பட்டணமுழுதையும் அழிப்பீரோ என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்: நான் நாற்பத்தைந்து நீதிமான்களை அங்கே கண்டால், அதை அழிப்பதில்லை என்றார்.

ஒருவேளை ஐம்பது நீதிமான்களுக்கு ஐந்துபேர் குறைந்திருப்பார்கள்; அந்த ஐந்துபேருக்காக பட்டணம் முழுவதையும் அழிப்பீரோ என்றான். அதற்கு அவர்: நான் நாற்பத்தைந்து நீதிமான்களை அங்கே கண்டால், அதை அழிப்பதில்லை என்றார்.

ஒருவேளை அந்த ஐம்பது நீதிமான்களில் ஐந்து பேர் குறைவாயிருக்கலாம். ஐந்து பேர் குறைவதை முன்னிட்டு நகர் முழுவதையும் அழிப்பீரோ?” என்றார். அதற்கு அவர், “நான் நாற்பத்தைந்து பேரை அங்கே கண்டால் அழிக்க மாட்டேன்” என்றார்.
