அப்பொழுது எபெத்மெலேக் அந்த மனுஷரைத் தன்னுடனே கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, ராஜாவின் அரமனைப் பொக்கிஷசாலையின் கீழிருந்த அறைக்குள் புகுந்து, கிழிந்துபோன பழம்புடைவைகளையும் கந்தைத் துணிகளையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவைகளைக் கயிறுகளினால் எரேமியாவண்டைக்குத் துரவிலே இறக்கிவிட்டு,

எனவே, எபெத்மெலேக் ஆட்களைத் தன்னோடு அழைத்தான். ஆனால் முதலில் அவன் அரசனது வீட்டிலுள்ள சாமான் அறைக்குக் கீழுள்ள அறைக்குச் சென்றான். அவன் கிழிந்த பழைய புடவைகளையும், கந்தைத் துணிகளையும் எடுத்தான். பின்னர் தண்ணீர்க் குழியில் அத்துணிகளையும் கயிறுகளையும் இறக்கினான்.
