Jeremiah 38 in Tamil

1 இந்த நகரத்திலே தரித்திருக்கிறவன் பட்டயத்தாலும் பஞ்சத்தாலும், கொள்ளை நோயாலும் சாவான்; கல்தேயரிடத்துக்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போகிறவனோ உயிரோடிருப்பான்; அவனுடைய பிராணன் அவனுக்குக் கிடைத்த கொள்ளையுடைமையைப்போலிருக்கும்; அவன் பிழைப்பானென்பதைக் கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார் என்றும், Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,

2 இந்த நகரம் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவினுடைய இராணுவத்தின் கையில் நிச்சயமாக ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படும்; அவன் அதைப் பிடிப்பானென்பதைக் கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார் என்றும், Thus saith the LORD, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live.

3 எரேமியா எல்லா ஜனத்தோடும் சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருந்த வார்த்தைகளை மாத்தானின் குமாரனாகிய செப்பத்தியாவும், செலேமியாவின் குமாரனாகிய யூகாலும், மல்கியாவின் குமாரனாகிய பஸ்கூரும் கேட்டார்கள். Thus saith the LORD, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which shall take it.

4 அப்பொழுது பிரபுக்கள் ராஜாவை நோக்கி: இந்த மனுஷன் கொல்லப்பட உத்தரவாகவேண்டும்; அதேனென்றால், இந்த நகரத்தில் மீதியாயிருக்கிற யுத்த மனுஷரிடத்திலும், மற்றுமுள்ள சகல ஜனங்களிடத்திலும், இவன் இப்படிப்பட்ட வார்த்தைகளைச் சொல்லுகிறதினாலே அவர்களுடைய கைகளைத் தளர்ந்துபோகப்பண்ணுகிறான்; இவன் இந்த ஜனத்தின் ேமத்தைத் தேடாமல், அவர்கள் கேட்டையே தேடுகிறான் என்றார்கள். Therefore the princes said unto the king, We beseech thee, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people, but the hurt.

5 அப்பொழுது சிதேக்கியா ராஜா: இதோ, அவன் உங்கள் கையில் இருக்கிறான்; உங்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் ராஜா ஒன்றும் செய்யக் கூடாது என்றான். Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand: for the king is not he that can do any thing against you.

6 அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் எரேமியாவைப் பிடித்து, அவனைக் காவற்சாலையின் முற்றத்திலிருந்த அம்மெலேகின் குமாரனாகிய மல்கியாவினுடைய துரவிலே போட்டார்கள்; எரேமியாவைக் கயிறுகளினால் அதிலே இறக்கிவிட்டார்கள்; அந்தத் துரவிலே தண்ணீர் இல்லாமல் உளையாயிருந்தது, அந்த உளையிலே எரேமியா அமிழ்ந்தினான். Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.

7 அவர்கள் எரேமியாவைத் துரவிலே போட்டதை ராஜாவின் அரமனையில் இருந்த எத்தியோப்பியனாகிய எபேத்மெலேக் என்னும் ஒரு பிரதானி கேள்விப்பட்டான்; ராஜாவோ பென்யமீன் வாசலிலே உட்கார்ந்திருந்தான். Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king's house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin;

8 அப்பொழுது எபெத்மெலேக் ராஜாவின் அரமனையிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டுப்போய், ராஜாவை நோக்கி: Ebedmelech went forth out of the king's house, and spake to the king saying,

9 ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனே, இந்தப் புருஷர் எரேமியா தீர்க்கதரிசியைத் துரவிலே போட்டுச் செய்தது எல்லாம் தகாத செய்கையாயிருக்கிறது; அவன் இருக்கிற இடத்திலே பட்டினியினால் சாவானே, இனி நகரத்திலே அப்பமில்லை என்றான். My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city.

10 அப்பொழுது ராஜா எபெத்மெலேக் என்னும் எத்தியோப்பியனை நோக்கி: நீ இவ்விடத்திலிருந்து முப்பது மனுஷரை உன்னுடனே; கூட்டிக்கொண்டுபோய், எரேமியா தீர்க்கதரிசி சாகாததற்குமுன்னே அவனைத் துரவிலிருந்து தூக்கிவிடு என்று கட்டளையிட்டான். Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die.

11 அப்பொழுது எபெத்மெலேக் அந்த மனுஷரைத் தன்னுடனே கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, ராஜாவின் அரமனைப் பொக்கிஷசாலையின் கீழிருந்த அறைக்குள் புகுந்து, கிழிந்துபோன பழம்புடைவைகளையும் கந்தைத் துணிகளையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், அவைகளைக் கயிறுகளினால் எரேமியாவண்டைக்குத் துரவிலே இறக்கிவிட்டு, So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

12 எபெத்மெலேக் என்னும் எத்தியோப்பியன் எரேமியாவுடனே: கிழிந்துபோன இந்தப் பழம்புடவைகளையும் கந்தைகளையும் உம்முடைய அக்குள்களில் கயிறுக்குள் அடங்கவைத்துப் போட்டுக்கொள்ளும் என்றான்: எரேமியா அப்படியே செய்தான். And Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.

13 அப்பொழுது எரேமியாவைக் கயிறுகளால் தூக்கி, அவனைத் துரவிலிருந்து எடுத்துவிட்டார்கள்; எரேமியா காவற்சாலையின் முற்றத்தில் இருந்தான். So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

14 பின்பு சிதேக்கியா ராஜா, எரேமியா தீர்க்கதரிசியைக் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலிருக்கும் மூன்றாம் வாசலிலே தன்னிடத்திற்கு வரவழைத்தான்; அங்கே ராஜா, எரேமியாவை நோக்கி: நான் உன்னிடத்தில் ஒரு காரியம் கேட்கிறேன்; நீ எனக்கு ஒன்றும் மறைக்கவேண்டாம் என்றான். Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet unto him into the third entry that is in the house of the LORD: and the king said unto Jeremiah, I will ask thee a thing; hide nothing from me.

15 அப்பொழுது எரேமியா சிதேக்கியாவை நோக்கி: நான் அதை உமக்கு அறிவித்தால் என்னை நிச்சயமாய்க் கொலைசெய்வீரல்லவா? நான் உமக்கு ஆலோசனை சொன்னாலும், என் சொல்லைக் கேட்கமாட்டீர் என்றான். Then Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, If I declare it unto thee, wilt thou not surely put me to death? and if I give thee counsel, wilt thou not hearken unto me?

16 அப்பொழுது சிதேக்கியா ராஜா: நான் உன்னைக் கொல்லாமலும், உன் பிராணனை வாங்கத்தேடுகிற இந்த மனுஷர் கையில் உன்னை ஒப்புக்கொடாமலும் இருப்பேன் என்பதை, நமக்கு இந்த ஆத்துமாவை உண்டுபண்ணின கர்த்தருடைய ஜீவனைக் கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்று எரேமியாவுக்கு இரகசியமாய் ஆணையிட்டான். So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the LORD liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life.

17 அப்பொழுது எரேமியா சிதேக்கியாவை நோக்கி: நீர் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் பிரபுக்களண்டைக்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போவீரானால், உம்முடைய ஆத்துமா உயிரோடிருக்கும்; இந்தப் பட்டணம் அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரிக்கப்படுவதில்லை; நீரும் உம்முடைய குடும்பமும் உயிரோடிருப்பீர்கள். Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon's princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house:

18 நீர் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் பிரபுக்களிடத்திற்குப் புறப்பட்டுப்போகாவிட்டால் அப்பொழுது இந்த நகரம் கல்தேயர் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படும், அவர்கள் இதை அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரிப்பார்கள்; நீர் அவர்களுக்குக் தப்பிப்போவதில்லை என்கிறதை இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனும் சேனைகளின் தேவனுமாகிய கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்றான். But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand.

19 அப்பொழுது சிதேக்கியா ராஜா எரேமியாவை நோக்கி: கல்தேயர் தங்களைச் சோர்ந்துபோன யூதரின் கையிலே என்னைப் பரியாசம்பண்ண ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பார்களோ என்று நான் ஐயப்படுகிறேன் என்றான். And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

20 அதற்கு எரேமியா: உம்மை ஒப்புக்கொடார்கள்; நான் உம்மிடத்தில் சொல்லுகிற கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தைகளுக்குச் செவிகொடும், அப்பொழுது உமக்கு நன்மையாயிருக்கும், உம்முடைய ஆத்துமா பிழைக்கும். But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee. Obey, I beseech thee, the voice of the LORD, which I speak unto thee: so it shall be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live.

21 நான் புறப்படுகிறதில்லை என்பீரேயாகில், கர்த்தர் எனக்குத் தெரியப்படுத்தின வார்த்தையாவது: But if thou refuse to go forth, this is the word that the LORD hath shewed me:

22 இதோ, யூதா ராஜாவின் வீட்டிலே மீதியான எல்லா ஸ்திரீகளும் வெளியே பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் பிரபுக்களண்டையில் கொண்டுபோகப்படுவார்கள்; அப்பொழுது, இதோ, அவர்கள்தானே உம்முடைய இஷ்டர்கள்; அவர்கள் உமக்குப் போதனை செய்து, உம்மை மேற்கொண்டார்கள் என்றும், உம்முடைய கால்கள் உளையிலே அமிழ்ந்தினபின்பு அவர்கள் பின்வாங்கிப்போனார்கள் என்றும் அந்த ஸ்திரீகளே சொல்லுவார்கள். And, behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah's house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon's princes, and those women shall say, Thy friends have set thee on, and have prevailed against thee: thy feet are sunk in the mire, and they are turned away back.

23 உம்முடைய எல்லா ஸ்திரீகளையும், உம்முடைய பிள்ளைகளையும் வெளியே கல்தேயரிடத்தில் கொண்டுபோவார்கள்; நீரும் அவர்கள் கைக்குத் தப்பிப் போகாமல் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் கையினால் பிடிக்கப்பட்டு, இந்த நகரம் அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரிக்கப்படக் காரணமாயிருப்பீர் என்றான். So they shall bring out all thy wives and thy children to the Chaldeans: and thou shalt not escape out of their hand, but shalt be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and thou shalt cause this city to be burned with fire.

24 அப்பொழுது சிதேக்கியா எரேமியாவை நோக்கி: இந்த வார்த்தைகளை ஒருவருக்கும் அறிவிக்கவேண்டாம்; அப்பொழுது நீ சாவதில்லை. Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die.

25 நான் உன்னோடே பேசினதைப் பிரபுக்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டு, உன்னிடத்தில் வந்து: நீ ராஜாவோடே பேசிக்கொண்டதை எங்களுக்குத் தெரிவி, எங்களுக்கு ஒன்றும் மறைக்காதே, அப்பொழுது உன்னைக் கொல்லாதிருப்போம்; ராஜா உன்னோடு என்ன பேசினார் என்று உன்னைக் கேட்பார்களேயாகில், But if the princes hear that I have talked with thee, and they come unto thee, and say unto thee, Declare unto us now what thou hast said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put thee to death; also what the king said unto thee:

26 நான் யோனத்தானுடைய வீட்டிலே சாகாதபடிக்கு ராஜா என்னை அங்கே திரும்ப அனுப்பவேண்டாம் என்று, அவர் முகத்துக்கு முன்பாக விண்ணப்பம் பண்ணினேன் என்று சொல்வாயாக என்றான். Then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan's house, to die there.

27 பின்பு எல்லாப் பிரபுக்களும், எரேமியாவினிடத்தில் வந்து, அவனைக் கேட்டார்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவன்: ராஜா கற்பித்த இந்த எல்லா வார்த்தைகளின்படியே அவர்களுக்கு அறிவித்தான்; காரியம் கேள்விப்படாமற்போனபடியினால், அவனோடே பேசாமலிருந்துவிட்டார்கள். Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.

28 அப்படியே எரேமியா, எருசலேம் பிடிபடுகிற நாள்மட்டாகக் காவற்சாலையின் முற்றத்தில் இருந்தான்; எருசலேம் பிடிபட்டுப்போனபோதும் அங்கேயே இருந்தான். So Jeremiah abode in the court of the prison until the day that Jerusalem was taken: and he was there when Jerusalem was taken.

1 Intha nakaraththilae thariththirukkiravan pattayaththaalum panjaththaalum, kollai Nnoyaalum saavaan; kalthaeyaridaththukkup purappattuppokiravano uyirotiruppaan; avanutaiya piraanan avanukkuk kitaiththa kollaiyutaimaiyaippolirukkum; avan pilaippaanenpathaik Karththar uraikkiraar entum, Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of Pashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,

2 Intha nakaram paapilon raajaavinutaiya iraanuvaththin kaiyil nichchayamaaka oppukkodukkappadum; avan athaip pitippaanenpathaik Karththar uraikkiraar entum, Thus saith the LORD, He that remaineth in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence: but he that goeth forth to the Chaldeans shall live; for he shall have his life for a prey, and shall live.

3 Eraemiyaa ellaa janaththodum sollikkonntiruntha vaarththaikalai maaththaanin kumaaranaakiya seppaththiyaavum, selaemiyaavin kumaaranaakiya yookaalum, malkiyaavin kumaaranaakiya paskoorum kaettarkal. Thus saith the LORD, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which shall take it.

4 Appoluthu pirapukkal raajaavai Nnokki: intha manushan kollappada uththaravaakavaenndum; athaenental, intha nakaraththil meethiyaayirukkira yuththa manusharidaththilum, mattaுmulla sakala janangalidaththilum, ivan ippatippatta vaarththaikalaich sollukirathinaalae avarkalutaiya kaikalaith thalarnthupokappannnukiraan; ivan intha janaththin ேmaththaith thaedaamal, avarkal kaettaைyae thaedukiraan entarkal. Therefore the princes said unto the king, We beseech thee, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people, but the hurt.

5 Appoluthu sithaekkiyaa raajaa: itho, avan ungal kaiyil irukkiraan; ungalukku virothamaay raajaa ontum seyyak koodaathu entan. Then Zedekiah the king said, Behold, he is in your hand: for the king is not he that can do any thing against you.

6 Appoluthu avarkal eraemiyaavaip pitiththu, avanaik kaavarsaalaiyin muttaththiliruntha ammelaekin kumaaranaakiya malkiyaavinutaiya thuravilae pottarkal; eraemiyaavaik kayiraுkalinaal athilae irakkivittarkal; anthath thuravilae thannnneer illaamal ulaiyaayirunthathu, antha ulaiyilae eraemiyaa amilnthinaan. Then took they Jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.

7 Avarkal eraemiyaavaith thuravilae pottathai raajaavin aramanaiyil iruntha eththiyoppiyanaakiya epaethmelaek ennum oru pirathaani kaelvippattan; raajaavo penyameen vaasalilae utkaarnthirunthaan. Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king's house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin;

8 Appoluthu epethmelaek raajaavin aramanaiyilirunthu purappattuppoy, raajaavai Nnokki: Ebedmelech went forth out of the king's house, and spake to the king saying,

9 Raajaavaakiya en aanndavanae, inthap purushar eraemiyaa theerkkatharisiyaith thuravilae pottuch seythathu ellaam thakaatha seykaiyaayirukkirathu; avan irukkira idaththilae pattiniyinaal saavaanae, ini nakaraththilae appamillai entan. My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon; and he is like to die for hunger in the place where he is: for there is no more bread in the city.

10 Appoluthu raajaa epethmelaek ennum eththiyoppiyanai Nnokki: nee ivvidaththilirunthu muppathu manusharai unnudanae; koottikkonndupoy, eraemiyaa theerkkatharisi saakaathatharkumunnae avanaith thuravilirunthu thookkividu entu kattalaiyittan. Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Take from hence thirty men with thee, and take up Jeremiah the prophet out of the dungeon, before he die.

11 Appoluthu epethmelaek antha manusharaith thannudanae koottikkonndu, raajaavin aramanaip pokkishasaalaiyin geeliruntha araikkul pukunthu, kilinthupona palamputaivaikalaiyum kanthaith thunnikalaiyum eduththukkonndupoy, avaikalaik kayiraுkalinaal eraemiyaavanntaikkuth thuravilae irakkivittu, So Ebedmelech took the men with him, and went into the house of the king under the treasury, and took thence old cast clouts and old rotten rags, and let them down by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah.

12 Epethmelaek ennum eththiyoppiyan eraemiyaavudanae: kilinthupona inthap palampudavaikalaiyum kanthaikalaiyum ummutaiya akkulkalil kayiraுkkul adangavaiththup pottukkollum entan: eraemiyaa appatiyae seythaan. And Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under thine armholes under the cords. And Jeremiah did so.

13 Appoluthu eraemiyaavaik kayiraுkalaal thookki, avanaith thuravilirunthu eduththuvittarkal; eraemiyaa kaavarsaalaiyin muttaththil irunthaan. So they drew up Jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and Jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

14 Pinpu sithaekkiyaa raajaa, eraemiyaa theerkkatharisiyaik karththarutaiya aalayaththilirukkum moontam vaasalilae thannidaththirku varavalaiththaan; angae raajaa, eraemiyaavai Nnokki: naan unnidaththil oru kaariyam kaetkiraேn; nee enakku ontum maraikkavaenndaam entan. Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet unto him into the third entry that is in the house of the LORD: and the king said unto Jeremiah, I will ask thee a thing; hide nothing from me.

15 Appoluthu eraemiyaa sithaekkiyaavai Nnokki: naan athai umakku ariviththaal ennai nichchayamaayk kolaiseyveerallavaa? Naan umakku aalosanai sonnaalum, en sollaik kaetkamaattir entan. Then Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, If I declare it unto thee, wilt thou not surely put me to death? and if I give thee counsel, wilt thou not hearken unto me?

16 Appoluthu sithaekkiyaa raajaa: naan unnaik kollaamalum, un piraananai vaangaththaedukira intha manushar kaiyil unnai oppukkodaamalum iruppaen enpathai, namakku intha aaththumaavai unndupannnnina karththarutaiya jeevanaik konndu sollukiraேn entu eraemiyaavukku irakasiyamaay aannaiyittan. So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the LORD liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life.

17 Appoluthu eraemiyaa sithaekkiyaavai Nnokki: neer paapilon raajaavin pirapukkalanntaikkup purappattuppoveeraanaal, ummutaiya aaththumaa uyirotirukkum; inthap pattanam akkiniyaal sutterikkappaduvathillai; neerum ummutaiya kudumpamum uyirotiruppeerkal. Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon's princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house:

18 Neer paapilon raajaavin pirapukkalidaththirkup purappattuppokaavittal appoluthu intha nakaram kalthaeyar kaiyil oppukkodukkappadum, avarkal ithai akkiniyaal sutterippaarkal; neer avarkalukkuk thappippovathillai enkirathai isravaelin thaevanum senaikalin thaevanumaakiya Karththar sollukiraar entan. But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand.

19 Appoluthu sithaekkiyaa raajaa eraemiyaavai Nnokki: kalthaeyar thangalaich sornthupona yootharin kaiyilae ennaip pariyaasampannna oppukkoduppaarkalo entu naan aiyappadukiraேn entan. And Zedekiah the king said unto Jeremiah, I am afraid of the Jews that are fallen to the Chaldeans, lest they deliver me into their hand, and they mock me.

20 Atharku eraemiyaa: ummai oppukkodaarkal; naan ummidaththil sollukira karththarutaiya vaarththaikalukkuch sevikodum, appoluthu umakku nanmaiyaayirukkum, ummutaiya aaththumaa pilaikkum. But Jeremiah said, They shall not deliver thee. Obey, I beseech thee, the voice of the LORD, which I speak unto thee: so it shall be well unto thee, and thy soul shall live.

21 Naan purappadukirathillai enpeeraeyaakil, Karththar enakkuth theriyappaduththina vaarththaiyaavathu: But if thou refuse to go forth, this is the word that the LORD hath shewed me:

22 Itho, yoothaa raajaavin veettilae meethiyaana ellaa sthireekalum veliyae paapilon raajaavin pirapukkalanntaiyil konndupokappaduvaarkal; appoluthu, itho, avarkalthaanae ummutaiya ishdarkal; avarkal umakkup pothanai seythu, ummai maerkonndaarkal entum, ummutaiya kaalkal ulaiyilae amilnthinapinpu avarkal pinvaangipponaarkal entum antha sthireekalae solluvaarkal. And, behold, all the women that are left in the king of Judah's house shall be brought forth to the king of Babylon's princes, and those women shall say, Thy friends have set thee on, and have prevailed against thee: thy feet are sunk in the mire, and they are turned away back.

23 Ummutaiya ellaa sthireekalaiyum, ummutaiya pillaikalaiyum veliyae kalthaeyaridaththil konndupovaarkal; neerum avarkal kaikkuth thappip pokaamal paapilon raajaavin kaiyinaal pitikkappattu, intha nakaram akkiniyaal sutterikkappadak kaaranamaayiruppeer entan. So they shall bring out all thy wives and thy children to the Chaldeans: and thou shalt not escape out of their hand, but shalt be taken by the hand of the king of Babylon: and thou shalt cause this city to be burned with fire.

24 Appoluthu sithaekkiyaa eraemiyaavai Nnokki: intha vaarththaikalai oruvarukkum arivikkavaenndaam; appoluthu nee saavathillai. Then said Zedekiah unto Jeremiah, Let no man know of these words, and thou shalt not die.

25 Naan unnotae paesinathaip pirapukkal kaelvippattu, unnidaththil vanthu: nee raajaavotae paesikkonndathai engalukkuth therivi, engalukku ontum maraikkaathae, appoluthu unnaik kollaathiruppom; raajaa unnodu enna paesinaar entu unnaik kaetpaarkalaeyaakil, But if the princes hear that I have talked with thee, and they come unto thee, and say unto thee, Declare unto us now what thou hast said unto the king, hide it not from us, and we will not put thee to death; also what the king said unto thee:

26 Naan yonaththaanutaiya veettilae saakaathapatikku raajaa ennai angae thirumpa anuppavaenndaam entu, avar mukaththukku munpaaka vinnnappam pannnninaen entu solvaayaaka entan. Then thou shalt say unto them, I presented my supplication before the king, that he would not cause me to return to Jonathan's house, to die there.

27 Pinpu ellaap pirapukkalum, eraemiyaavinidaththil vanthu, avanaik kaettarkal; appoluthu avan: raajaa karpiththa intha ellaa vaarththaikalinpatiyae avarkalukku ariviththaan; kaariyam kaelvippadaamarponapatiyinaal, avanotae paesaamalirunthuvittarkal. Then came all the princes unto Jeremiah, and asked him: and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they left off speaking with him; for the matter was not perceived.

28 Appatiyae eraemiyaa, Jerusalem pitipadukira naalmattakak kaavarsaalaiyin muttaththil irunthaan; Jerusalem pitipattupponapothum angaeyae irunthaan. So Jeremiah abode in the court of the prison until the day that Jerusalem was taken: and he was there when Jerusalem was taken.
