நான் என் வலையை அவன்மேல் வீசுவேன், அவன் என் கண்ணியிலே பிடிபடுவான்; அவனைக் கல்தேயர் தேசமாகிய பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டுபோவேன்; அங்கே அவன் சாவான்; ஆகிலும் அதைக் காணமாட்டான்.

நான் உனக்குக் கொடுத்த என்னுடைய அப்பத்தையும், நீ சாப்பிடும்படி உனக்குக் கொடுத்த மெல்லிய மாவையும் நெய்யையும் தேனையும் நீ அவைகளின்முன்பு சுகந்தவாசனையாகப் படைத்தாய்; காரியம் இப்படி ஆனதென்று கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

நான் உனக்கு அப்பம், தேன், எண்ணெய் ஆகியவற்றைக் கொடுத்தேன். ஆனால் நீ அவற்றை அந்த விக்கிரகங்களுக்கு கொடுத்தாய். உனது பொய்த் தெய்வங்களை மகிழ்ச்சிப்படுத்த நீ இனிய மணப்பொருட்களை வழங்கினாய்! அப்பொய்த் தெய்வங்களிடம் நீ ஒரு வேசியைப்போன்று நடந்துகொண்டாய்!” எனது கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் இவற்றைச் சொன்னார்.
