મિસરવાસીઓ નાઈલ નદીનું પાણી પી શકતા ન હતા તેથી તેમણે નદીની આજુબાજુ ચારેબાજુ કૂવાઓ ખોધ્યા અને વીરડા ગાળ્યા.

And all	וַיַּחְפְּר֧וּ	wayyaḥpĕrû	va-yahk-peh-ROO
the Egyptians	כָל	kāl	hahl
digged	מִצְרַ֛יִם	miṣrayim	meets-RA-yeem
about round	סְבִיבֹ֥ת	sĕbîbōt	seh-vee-VOTE
the river	הַיְאֹ֖ר	hayʾōr	hai-ORE
for water	מַ֣יִם	mayim	MA-yeem
drink; to	לִשְׁתּ֑וֹת	lištôt	leesh-TOTE
for	כִּ֣י	kî	kee
they could	לֹ֤א	lōʾ	loh
not	יָֽכְלוּ֙	yākĕlû	ya-heh-LOO
drink	לִשְׁתֹּ֔ת	lištōt	leesh-TOTE
water the of	מִמֵּימֵ֖י	mimmêmê	mee-may-MAY
of the river.	הַיְאֹֽר׃	hayʾōr	hai-ORE
