Exodus 8:18
મિસરના જાદુગરોએ પોતાના જંતરમંતરનો ઉપયોગ કર્યો અને એવું જ કરવાનો પ્રયત્ન કર્યો. પરંતુ જાદુગર ધૂળમાંથી જૂઓ બનાવી શકયા નહિ. અને મનુષ્યો તથા ઢોરઢાંખર પર જૂઓ છવાઈ ગઈ.

| to bring forth | לְהוֹצִ֥יא | lĕhôṣîʾ | leh-hoh-TSEE |
| אֶת | ʾet | et | |
| lice, | הַכִּנִּ֖ים | hakkinnîm | ha-kee-NEEM |
| could they but | וְלֹ֣א | wĕlōʾ | veh-LOH |
| not: | יָכֹ֑לוּ | yākōlû | ya-HOH-loo |
| so there were | וַתְּהִי֙ | wattĕhiy | va-teh-HEE |
| lice | הַכִּנָּ֔ם | hakkinnām | ha-kee-NAHM |
| upon man, | בָּֽאָדָ֖ם | bāʾādām | ba-ah-DAHM |
| and upon beast. | וּבַבְּהֵמָֽה׃ | ûbabbĕhēmâ | oo-va-beh-hay-MA |
