ઇસ્રાએલીઓએ ત્યાંથી દ્રાક્ષનો એક ઝૂમખો કાપી લીધો હોવાથી એ જગ્યાનું નામ એશ્કોલનુંકોતર પાડવામાં આવ્યું.

The place	לַמָּק֣וֹם	lammāqôm	la-ma-KOME
was called	הַה֔וּא	hahûʾ	ha-HOO
brook the	קָרָ֖א	qārāʾ	ka-RA
Eshcol,	נַ֣חַל	naḥal	NA-hahl
because	אֶשְׁכּ֑וֹל	ʾeškôl	esh-KOLE
of	עַ֚ל	ʿal	al
grapes of cluster the	אֹד֣וֹת	ʾōdôt	oh-DOTE
which	הָֽאֶשְׁכּ֔וֹל	hāʾeškôl	ha-esh-KOLE
the children	אֲשֶׁר	ʾăšer	uh-SHER
Israel of	כָּֽרְת֥וּ	kārĕtû	ka-reh-TOO
cut down	מִשָּׁ֖ם	miššām	mee-SHAHM
from thence.	בְּנֵ֥י	bĕnê	beh-NAY
