Israel, יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ yiśrāʾēl yees-ra-ALE
they sent וַֽיִּשְׁלְחוּ֙ šālaḥ sha-LAHK
messengers, מַלְאָכִ֔ים mălʾok mul-OKE
and drew forth וַיּוֹצִ֣יאוּ yāṣāʾ ya-TSA
אֶת ʾēt ate
the Syrians אֲרָ֔ם ʾărām uh-RAHM
that אֲשֶׁ֖ר ʾăšer uh-SHER
beyond מֵעֵ֣בֶר ʿēber ay-VER
the river: הַנָּהָ֑ר nāhār na-HAHR
and Shophach וְשׁוֹפַ֛ךְ šôpok shoh-FOKE
the captain שַׂר śar sahr
of the host צְבָ֥א ṣābāʾ tsa-VA
of Hadarezer הֲדַדְעֶ֖זֶר hădarʿezer huh-dahr-eh-ZER
before them. לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃ pānîm pa-NEEM
