ה֣וֹי Woe hôy הַיֹּרְדִ֤ים to them that go down yārad מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ to Egypt miṣrayim לְעֶזְרָ֔ה for help; ʿezrâ עַל on ʿal סוּסִ֖ים horses, sûs יִשָּׁעֵ֑נוּ and stay šāʿan וַיִּבְטְח֨וּ and trust bāṭaḥ עַל in ʿal רֶ֜כֶב chariots, rekeb כִּ֣י because kî רָ֗ב many; rab וְעַ֤ל and in ʿal פָּֽרָשִׁים֙ horsemen, pāroš כִּֽי because kî עָצְמ֣וּ strong; ʿāṣam מְאֹ֔ד they are very mĕʾōd וְלֹ֤א not lōʾ שָׁעוּ֙ but they look šāʿâ עַל unto ʿal קְד֣וֹשׁ the Holy One qādôš יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl וְאֶת ʾēt יְהוָ֖ה the Lord! yĕhōwâ לֹ֥א neither lōʾ דָרָֽשׁוּ׃ seek dāraš

וְגַם also gam ה֤וּא Yet he hûʾ חָכָם֙ wise, ḥākām וַיָּ֣בֵא and will bring bôʾ רָ֔ע evil, raʿ וְאֶת ʾēt דְּבָרָ֖יו his words: dābār לֹ֣א and will not lōʾ הֵסִ֑יר call back sûr וְקָם֙ but will arise qûm עַל against ʿal בֵּ֣ית the house bayit מְרֵעִ֔ים of the evildoers, rāʿaʿ וְעַל and against ʿal עֶזְרַ֖ת the help ʿezrâ פֹּ֥עֲלֵי of them that work pāʿal אָֽוֶן׃ iniquity. ʾāwen

וּמִצְרַ֤יִם Now the Egyptians miṣrayim אָדָם֙ men, ʾādām וְֽלֹא and not lōʾ אֵ֔ל God; ʾēl וְסוּסֵיהֶ֥ם and their horses sûs בָּשָׂ֖ר flesh, bāśār וְלֹא and not lōʾ ר֑וּחַ spirit. rûaḥ וַֽיהוָ֞ה When the Lord yĕhōwâ יַטֶּ֣ה shall stretch out nāṭâ יָד֗וֹ his hand, yād וְכָשַׁ֤ל shall fall, kāšal עוֹזֵר֙ both he that helpeth ʿāzar וְנָפַ֣ל shall fall down, nāpal עָזֻ֔ר and he that is holpen ʿāzar וְיַחְדָּ֖ו together. yaḥad כֻּלָּ֥ם and they all kōl יִכְלָיֽוּן׃ shall fail kālâ

כִּ֣י For kî כֹ֣ה thus kō אָֽמַר spoken ʾāmar יְהוָ֣ה׀ hath the Lord yĕhōwâ אֵלַ֡י unto ʾēl כַּאֲשֶׁ֣ר me, Like as ʾăšer יֶהְגֶּה֩ roaring hāgâ הָאַרְיֵ֨ה the lion ʾărî וְהַכְּפִ֜יר and the young lion kĕpîr עַל on ʿal טַרְפּ֗וֹ his prey, ṭerep אֲשֶׁ֨ר when ʾăšer יִקָּרֵ֤א is called forth qārāʾ עָלָיו֙ against ʿal מְלֹ֣א a multitude mĕlōʾ רֹעִ֔ים of shepherds rāʿâ מִקּוֹלָם֙ of their voice, qôl לֹ֣א him, will not lōʾ יֵחָ֔ת be afraid ḥātat וּמֵֽהֲמוֹנָ֖ם himself for the noise hāmôn לֹ֣א nor lōʾ יַֽעֲנֶ֑ה abase ʿānâ כֵּ֗ן of them: so kēn יֵרֵד֙ come down yārad יְהוָ֣ה shall the Lord yĕhōwâ צְבָא֔וֹת of hosts ṣābāʾ לִצְבֹּ֥א to fight ṣābāʾ עַל for ʿal הַר mount har צִיּ֖וֹן Zion, ṣiyyôn וְעַל and for ʿal גִּבְעָתָֽהּ׃ the hill thereof. gibʿâ

כְּצִפֳּרִ֣ים As birds ṣippôr עָפ֔וֹת flying, ʿûp כֵּ֗ן so kēn יָגֵ֛ן defend gānan יְהוָ֥ה will the Lord yĕhōwâ צְבָא֖וֹת of hosts ṣābāʾ עַל ʿal יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם Jerusalem; yĕrûšālaim גָּנ֥וֹן defending gānan וְהִצִּ֖יל also he will deliver nāṣal פָּסֹ֥חַ passing over pāsaḥ וְהִמְלִֽיט׃ he will preserve mālaṭ

שׁ֗וּבוּ Turn šûb לַאֲשֶׁ֛ר ye unto whom ʾăšer הֶעְמִ֥יקוּ have deeply ʿāmaq סָרָ֖ה revolted. sārâ בְּנֵ֥י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel yiśrāʾēl

כִּ֚י For kî בַּיּ֣וֹם day yôm הַה֔וּא in that hûʾ יִמְאָס֗וּן shall cast away māʾas אִ֚ישׁ every man ʾîš אֱלִילֵ֣י his idols ʾĕlîl כַסְפּ֔וֹ of silver, kesep וֶאֱלִילֵ֖י and his idols ʾĕlîl זְהָב֑וֹ of gold, zāhāb אֲשֶׁ֨ר which ʾăšer עָשׂ֥וּ have made ʿāśâ לָכֶ֛ם יְדֵיכֶ֖ם your own hands yād חֵֽטְא׃ unto you a sin. ḥēṭĕʾ

וְנָפַ֤ל fall nāpal אַשּׁוּר֙ Then shall the Assyrian ʾaššûr בְּחֶ֣רֶב with the sword, ḥereb לֹא not lōʾ אִ֔ישׁ of a mighty man; ʾîš וְחֶ֥רֶב and the sword, ḥereb לֹֽא not lōʾ אָדָ֖ם of a mean man, ʾādām תֹּֽאכֲלֶ֑נּוּ shall devour ʾākal וְנָ֥ס him: but he shall flee nûs לוֹ֙ מִפְּנֵי from pānîm חֶ֔רֶב the sword, ḥereb וּבַחוּרָ֖יו and his young men bāḥûr לָמַ֥ס discomfited. mas יִהְיֽוּ׃ shall be hāyâ

וְסַלְעוֹ֙ to his strong hold selaʿ מִמָּג֣וֹר for fear, māgôr יַֽעֲב֔וֹר And he shall pass over ʿābar וְחַתּ֥וּ shall be afraid ḥātat מִנֵּ֖ס of the ensign, nēs שָׂרָ֑יו and his princes śar נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָ֗ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ אֲשֶׁר whose ʾăšer א֥וּר fire ʾûr לוֹ֙ בְּצִיּ֔וֹן in Zion, ṣiyyôn וְתַנּ֥וּר and his furnace tannûr ל֖וֹ בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ in Jerusalem. yĕrûšālaim
