யாக்கோபு 1
9 தாழ்ந்த சகோதரன் தான் உயர்த்தப்பட்டதைக்குறித்து மேன்மைபாராட்டக்கடவன்.
10 ஐசுவரியவான் தான் தாழ்த்தப்பட்டதைக்குறித்து மேன்மைபாராட்டக்கடவன்; ஏனெனில் அவன் புல்லின் பூவைப்போல் ஒழிந்துபோவான்.
11 சூரியன் கடும் வெய்யிலுடன் உதித்து, புல்லை உலர்த்தும்போது, அதின் பூ உதிர்ந்து, அதின் அழகான வடிவு அழிந்துபோம்; ஐசுவரியவானும் அப்படியே தன் வழிகளில் வாடிப்போவான்.
9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
11 For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

9 நான் கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்தேன்; அவர் எனக்காக வழக்காடி என் நியாயத்தை விசாரிக்குமட்டும் அவருடைய கோபத்தைச் சுமப்பேன்; அவர் என்னை வெளிச்சத்திலே கொண்டுவருவார், அவருடைய நீதியைப் பார்ப்பேன்.
I will bear the indignation of the Lord, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.
10 உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எங்கே என்று என்னோடே சொல்லுகிற என் சத்துருவானவள் அதைப் பார்க்கும்போது வெட்கம் அவளை மூடும்; என் கண்கள் அவளைக் காணும்; இனி வீதிகளின் சேற்றைப்போல மிதிக்கப்படுவாள்.
Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the Lord thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.
