ராஜா அந்தச் சுருளையும், அதிலே எரேமியாவின் வாய் சொல்லப் பாருக்கு எழுதியிருந்த வார்த்தைகளையும் சுட்டெரித்த பின்பு, எரேமியாவுக்குக் கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை உண்டாகி, அவர்:

அப்பொழுது என் தாசனாகிய தாவீதுடன் நான் செய்த உடன்படிக்கையும், அவன் சிங்காசனத்தில் அரசாளும் மகன் அவனுக்கு இல்லாமற்போவதால் அவமாகும்; என் ஊழியக்காரராகிய லேவியருடனும் ஆசாரியருடனும் நான் செய்த உடன்படிக்கையும் அப்பொழுது அவமாகும்.
