லூக்கா 2
25 அப்பொழுது சிமியோன் என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஒரு மனுஷன் எருசலேமில் இருந்தான்; அவன் நீதியும் தேவபக்தியும் உள்ளவனாயும், இஸ்ரவேலின் ஆறுதல் வரக்காத்திருக்கிறவனாயும் இருந்தான்; அவன் மேல் பரிசுத்த ஆவி இருந்தார்.
26 கர்த்தருடைய கிறிஸ்துவை நீ காணுமுன்னே மரணமடையமாட்டாய் என்று பரிசுத்த ஆவியினாலே அவனுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுமிருந்தது.
27 அவன் ஆவியின் ஏவுதலினால் தேவாலயத்திலே வந்திருந்தான். இயேசு என்னும் பிள்ளைக்காக நியாயப்பிரமாணமுறைமையின்படி செய்வதற்குத் தாய் தகப்பன்மார் அவரை உள்ளே கொண்டுவருகையில்,
28 அவன் அவரைத் தன் கைகளில் ஏந்திக்கொண்டு தேவனை ஸ்தோத்திரித்து:
29 ஆண்டவரே, உமது வார்த்தையின்படி உமது அடியேனை இப்பொழுது சமாதானத்தோடே போகவிடுகிறீர்;
30 புறஜாதிகளுக்குப் பிரகாசிக்கிற ஒளியாகவும், உம்முடைய ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு மகிமையாகவும்,
31 தேவரீர் சகல ஜனங்களுக்கும் முன்பாக ஆயத்தம்பண்ணின
32 உம்முடைய இரட்சணியத்தை என் கண்கள் கண்டது என்றான்.
33 அவரைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லப்பட்டவைகளுக்காக யோசேப்பும் அவருடைய தாயாரும் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.
34 பின்னும் சிமியோன் அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதித்து, அவருடைய தாயாகிய மரியாளை நோக்கி: இதோ, அநேகருடைய இருதய சிந்தனைகள் வெளிப்படத்தக்கதாக, இஸ்ரவேலில் அநேகர் விழுகிறதற்கும் எழுந்திருக்கிறதற்கும், விரோதமாகப் பேசப்படும் அடையாளமாவதற்கும், இவர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறார்.
35 உன் ஆத்துமாவையும் ஒரு பட்டையம் உருவிப்போகும் என்றான்.
25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.
26 And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law,
28 Then took he him up in his arms, and blessed God, and said,
29 Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word:
30 For mine eyes have seen thy salvation,
31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people;
32 A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
33 And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.
34 And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;
35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.
0 A Psalm of David.
1 Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle.
3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
5 Because they regard not the works of the Lord, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
6 Blessed be the Lord, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications.
7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
8 The Lord is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed.
9 Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.
