പടനായകൻ ചേവകരുമായി ചെന്നു, ജനം കല്ലെറിയും എന്നു ഭയപ്പെടുകയാൽ ബലാൽക്കാരം ചെയ്യാതെ അവരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

അപ്പോൾ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും ജനത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയാൽ അവനെ ഒടുക്കുവാൻ ഉപായം അന്വേഷിച്ചു.

ഈ വാക്കു കേട്ടിട്ടു ദൈവാലയത്തിലെ പടനായകനും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ഇതു എന്തായിത്തീരും എന്നു അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു ചഞ്ചലിച്ചു.
