யோர்தானுக்கு அக்கரையிலே முன்னே John ஞானஸ்நானங்கொடுத்துக்கொண்டிருந்த இடத்துக்குத் திரும்பிப்போய், அங்கே தங்கினார்.

அதன்பின்பு அவர் தம்முடைய சீஷரை நோக்கி: நாம் மறுபடியும் யூதேயாவுக்குப் போவோம் வாருங்கள் என்றார்.

அவர்களுடைய அவிசுவாசத்தைக் குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு; கிராமங்களிலே சுற்றித்திரிந்து, உபதேசம்பண்ணினார்.

இயேசு கரைϠοல் வந்து, அநேக ஜனங்களைகύ கண்டு, அவர்கள் மேய்பύபனில்லாத ஆடுகளைப்போலிருந்தபடியால், அவர்கள்மேல் மனதுருகி, அநேக காரியங்களை அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசிக்கத் தொடங்கினார்.

இயேசு அவனுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நான் வெளியரங்கமாய் உலகத்துடனே பேசினேன்; ஜெபஆலயங்களிலேயும் யூதர்களெல்லாரும் கூடிவருகிற தேவாலயத்திலேயும் எப்பொழுதும் உபதேசித்தேன்; அந்தரங்கத்திலே நான் ஒன்றும் பேசவில்லை.
